Wow, those streets (and scenery) look exactly the same as they did when I grew up there 50 years ago. And what really stands out is just how flat and treeless it is there. People always talked about that, but I didn’t really know what they were talking about until I lived in Dallas/Ft. Worth for several decades. But one thing I felt when watching this was how I still have a lot of love for my hometown. I always will. And I STILL watch EVERY single Tech game! Love them! 😊

Was good to see the ole' hometown. You almost passed by the house I was born in, some... ehem 7+ decades ago. I was shocked to see the that downtown streets were still red brick. I guess some things never change. Great video. Liked and subcribed.

Lubbock has produced way more then it's share of famous singers and musicians, especially country, swing/rockabilly and rock, bit in many others as well!!! Very interesting history there.

I’ve been watching videos of Lubbock and some have said that Lubbock has a high crime rate. Watching this makes me doubt that. Any insight would be helpful. I live in Florida and have been watching for affordable cities for if it keeps getting more expensive . Lubbock seems nice!

Most crime happens in the east/ north east part of town. I live in the southeast side for the last 20 years and love it. Towns growing fast

Interesting and colorful, yet simultaneously rather bleak looking city.. It appears that almost no one walks anywhere outside (other then in parks I suppose) except from their car straight into a building and back, not even down the block much given the abundent parking.

Yep, it's pretty much indistinguishable from any other town in the US. They all look like this. Nothing to do but drive to work and back, and then sit home watching TV.

@@zell6423thanks. That's sort of what I figured. I've never been to Lubbock, but I believe parts of downtown do have a bit more in proximity from what I've heard, but that it's still pretty bleak compared to most city's downtown's these days. But actually if a city has a walking culture like even, say, San Angelo or Wichita Falls do to an extent with their fairly extensive urban greenways, then there is a reason to walk (maybe not in all neighborhoods though) even if attractions are not close togather.

Lubbock is good for college students and medical students. Farmers are even sick of it. They might live in Lubbock but they travel out of town a lot. There is nothing to keep people here. Retirement town but boring. Most young folk that work here - don’t live in the city limits. They come in from surrounding small towns that have nothing.
