Abby just wanted Joe to have plenty of time to bake because over the course of her career she was once an OB nurse so she’s fully aware of the dangers of prematurity. Abby was just wanting to protect her son and Luka was there to be the calming factor.

Ummm....as if there's any other option?? A doctor's responsibility is to save BOTH mother and child!!!!

Remember the episode in season 6 where Luka got the patient in who was 8 months pregnant and her baby was in distress and needed to be delivered by c-section? She didn’t know she was pregnant due to be a high intensity athlete and didn’t want it, so she refuses to let the docs deliver it, and it died in utero.

Um, she may be a doctor herself but she’s a terrified expecting mother. Her hormones are all over the map. But she’s a doctor and was an ob nurse and saw what premature delivery can do to babies. She wanted to keep baby inside so the baby could be born on schedule, not early. Plus she doesn’t have control and she’s trying to get the control back. I give her a bit of slack.
