Springs don't wear from compression alone. They wear from repeated compression and expansion.

Also when I lock it back over the detention button it doesn’t go back to the center. I’m not real happy with mine so far. It was actually a real tight fit when assembling the barrel.

I had a similar problem with a new CZ Woodcock. Clean the bottom inside of the receiver [where the mono-block engages]. I was advised to use a gun oil, applies with a cotton swab in that area. Another item you might check is where the lower "rectangles" (bottom of mono-block) mate in the receiver. Check for sharp burs which may impede the mating of those "rectangles" into the rectangular mating holes. Hone (do not file) any burrs which may exist. I am NOT impressed with the CZ manufacturing Quality Control in Turkey.

Hey Dave thanks for the video. I lubricated my CZ Redhead Premier Target as you showed us in the video, but one thing I noticed if you get that grease on the forend checkering or pistol grip checkering, it is difficult to get out. I had to use Ballistol wipes to remove it. The wipes are just course enough to do it. Ballistol on a rag doesn't work as well, I guess because the rag isn't course enough. Do you know of a better way to remove the grease from the checkering?

What type of grease do you recommend?

Hey Jay, from personal experience I would avoid Outer's, it breaks down and becomes runny just on a hot day even before shooting and the gun really heats up. I'm using Lucas gun grease and it comes with an easy to use tip on the small tube.

A synthetic like Mobil 1 or Tetra will last the longest and be the most effective. That being said, I have an old huge pail of Lubriplate 130A that I use on rifles, pistols, shotguns that works fine. My grandkids will likely be using the same pail- $5 at a garage sale. Stores fine as long as air tight.

What product do you put on the friction parts of the gun - to delay wear? Thanks.
@czusafirearms3 жыл бұрын
We recommend grease, particularly G96 Grease or a silicon based brake grease.

Mobil 1 or Tetra synthetic greases.

On a separate question: I see people removing the coating on the barrels of the pistols. Although it looks cool does it or would it cause any issues with the firearm?
@czusafirearms2 жыл бұрын
The barrel is nitride coated and there will be wear as the steel barrel rubs against the steel frame. However, if you clean the gun like normal and lubricate as normal there will be 0 issues with this.

God damnit my new drake is stiff af! I willing to pay someone to open it and close it for like 2 years nonstop. May e some good grease will help

I purchased a new CZ Woodcock for Sportsman's Warehouse (Big Mistake!). I had to send it back CZ USA for warranty as the mono-block needed to be forced into the receiver. That was due to imprecise CNC Machining (sarcasm) at their factory. The barrel is stamped "Made in Turkey."

Does this also work for side by sides?
@czusafirearms4 жыл бұрын
Yep, their grease points are very similar.
@jackjohnson654 жыл бұрын
Is that for storage only?
@Yance_0004 жыл бұрын
No, the lubrication is for use to prevent wear on the metal to metal contact points. For storage, I believe that a thin coat of oil over the metal parts is recommended to prevent rust
@czusafirearms4 жыл бұрын
Yance is spot-on -- the grease is essential in these key spots to keep the gun tight for years to come, and a spritz of oil on all metalwork is a great idea before putting the gun away for an extended period.

Do you do anything different in lubrication or cleaning for a shotgun with ejectors instead of just extractors?
@mikescooling3 жыл бұрын
That grease picks stuff up and grinds it in the action, more is not always better.
@czusafirearms3 жыл бұрын
That's a big reason why we suggest regularly cleaning and inspecting your firearms. If you perform regular maintenance on your shotgun it won't build up much grit and dirt and still get the big benefits of having plenty of grease in the action.

Myth. Has never happened to me in 50 years of hunting/shooting and 6 years of Army infantry service. I've seen far more weapons malfunction due to lack of lube vs. the mythical grease based gunk ball. Sand deserts are the only exception.

This was a rather poorly done video. The camera work was terrible. Close ups of exactly where to grease would have been helpful. Also the last part about decompressing the hammer spring was rushed and poorly explained.

As for lube..use Mobile 1 Synthetic..it's for race car's..The hotter that gun gets the smoother it will function..Fact..
