I was surprised to see so many of both Wu and Wei's famous generals not having traits. Also, Fa Zheng not having one is sad.

You can mod all the officers after clearing one game. I think this is perfect, because none of us are EVER happy with the way they do officers vanilla in these games. I think Wu is ALWAYS under-cooked, and some of their guys don't get their due respect when they create them.... I appreciate them letting us "fix" people to how we think they should be represented....Especially those who know the saga and want immersive representation in their experience...For example, as far as I am concerned from what I know, the Barbarian tribesman should not have a single guy with less than an 80 in War/Str. As their whole culture, especially in the Wu Xi Man (Nanman) and the northern Niaowan tribes picked their leaders based on how much ass they kicked. Yeah, they werent very cultured, dumb as rocks, and extremely superstitious, but they could kick some serious ass in a scrap and were feared by the Han Chinese for this fact. They were also highly valued as Mercs, because of how scrappy they were. The Qiang werent wimps either, as they had trained hawks, and could fight from horseback better than most could fight on foot. While the Shanyu were more or less a motley crew of river pirates, and some of these guys were scary as well, such as the "White tiger of the south" Yan Baihu, who I also think gets undercooked by Koei. Shamoke may be a fictional character, BUT he is based on how their warriors were. Just looking at him Gan Ning knew he was in over his head. And Gan Ning is far from the type to scare easy. "Defeating these tribal leaders like Meng Huo won't do any good. They change leaders and kings often because here, status and rank are decided by might and martial skill. We must win them over or another warrior will just step into their kings position and continue to invade Shu"- Zhuge Liang

@@MidnightBlackandVictoria Yeah you can add stuff on the second playthrough which is good, however I feel that there are too few traits and if you give out a bunch you will have a lot of repeats. I hope they do an update where they add more traits. Just want to mention that Shamoke isn't fictional, he was a real tribal leader in Wu Ling. He didn't actually kill Gan Ning as Gan Ning was already dead due to illness but Shamoke was real. He died during the retreat along with Ma Liang.

​@@Atom523 Good to know. Thanks. I actually thought since the whole Gan Ning encounter was made up, they just pulled Shamoke out of thin air like they did with Zhu Rong. Granted, I don't "mind" them using fictional characters, so long as they fit the profiles they should such as these tribes. Been a fan of the tribes since before they were even added in RTK 4. In fact, we used to write Koei with signatures for what we wanted but the thing is, we were only writing to the localization office and didnt realize thats all it was HAHA! But they were coincidentally added ANYWAYS, so it worked out. Though I do wish they would extend the map to add their territories and alot more of their characters. Makes way more sense than adding Himiko, though I suppose Japan IS making these games so its only fair they throw a bit of their own tribute in it. One thing I don't agree with between fictional/historical is how they present Guan Ping as "adopted" when in fact he was Guan Yu's eldest trueborn son (while Guan Suo didnt even exist) he was as brave as they came, and deserved to be respected in these novels. Just seems wrong. I asked a friend once why he thought they did this, and his theory was to "keep the mysticism around Guan Yu and his sacrifice" but to me, that doesnt hold water since Guan Ping was just as defiant and valiant at the end. I think the novel did him dirty for that. Another change that bugs me, is Liu Feng, who was ALSO never adopted by Liu Bei. Historically, that guy was an absolute beast in a duel, and yet he is extremely downplayed. That being said, I agree about the traits. Really only want to add to the "main" officers until Koei hopefully gets around to adding more. Some are pretty fitting for characters that don't have them, like fearless, prodigy, enchantment, ect. As they fit the personality of certain characters to a T. Traits, more portraits (and even more slots) and maybe even some more officers is what I mainly want to see....We have MORE than enough scenarios.

@@MidnightBlackandVictoria In regards to Guan Ping, I think the reason that they made him adopted was to age him up a bit. While his historical birth year isn't recorded it is implied that he would have been born between 200-203 or so thus making him between 16 or 19 when he died. Thus it would make him far too young to actually participate in most battles. So making him adopted earlier in the timeline allows him to be used.

You CAN use great hero to attack twice in one parliment, but can only participate in the second one, still thats pretty strong. In other words, if you have enough officers, you can send in a force to soften up a target or attack one place, and then have Cao Cao (or playing anyone with this trait) go out. I actually used this to dig Gongsun Yuan out of a corner as he had an insane amount of troops. Team one knocked them from 147K down to around a manageable 70K. He had all of Liu Bei's guys with him and I was having a hell of a time digging him out of that corner.

Well, you can always attack multiple times but I was talking about if Cao Cao himself will be able to participate twice

Using CaoCao's trait generates merit & tactical results faster (reward/recruit sprees too), but is especially useful only if your officer has a lot of stats IMO. Personally, I'm having a hard time picking between Lubu's, Sima Yi and Zhang Liao's ability. -10 morale to ALL enemies every time I destroy someone is pretty nice, especially if they have morale conditional abilities. (I shut down Zhao Yun & his allies this way)

indispensable : linked effects is when you're doing some political stuff that trigger link between your close officer your total outcome for whatever political stuff youve done with your close officer will gives you more, so basically you can develop city very quickly

5 tiger generals all got traits, 5 generals of wei only Zhang Liao got one. Thought for sure Li Dian Yu Jin Yue Jin and for sure Zhang He would get a trait

Koei goes by Luo Guanzong's novel, which means they are VERY pro-Shu. The Wei, Wu, and even the tribal characters never really get their just due. Which makes editing historical officers a very welcome feature. I mean, look at how poorly they represent Xiahou Wei, De, and especially Mao. Xiahou Mao was an absolute BOSS in real history, both as a statesmen and as a warrior general. Yet if someone only went by Koei's interpretation of him, they would think he was completely awful. Xiahou Wei and Xiahou He were every bit the generals their fathers were in talent. They USED to extremely under-stat Xiahou Ba until later entries (early games gave him a 70 ld and about a 78-80 war stat) . This isnt really their fault though, as its more because their main source was a Shu sympathizer who downplayed anyone who wasnt either Shu or a Han Loyalist. Really makes one wonder what the game would have looked like if they prioritized the historical records rather than the Romanized novel, eh?

I am curious if certain traits like Unmatched will stack with Overlord since we know that traits can be activate with deputies. Like would Unmatched and Overlord both activate if you use those tactics on someone with 85 strength or more for 205 ATK or Unmatched will activate for every other case but if you attack someone with 85 strength or more then Overlord will supersede instead.

Does anyone know what Sun Jian's trait does? [Jiangdong Tiger] A friend is playing as Sun Jian and he's winning a lot of battles, but Sun Jian's max troops stay cap at 15k. Did we misunderstand something or is this a bug?

my guess from playing that SSX playthrough where I gave her this trait is that you get soldiers at the end of each battle to replenish your numbers rather than actually increase your troop cap

She's in the game, got married to her in my Dong Zhuo officer game. Appears like a year or two after working for DZ's force in Anti-DZ Alliance scenario.

If you start during Dong Zhuo time she will appear and can be recruited if you form synergy with her but triggering it have lower chance if you're free officer, preferably do it fast before she get killed by event

We pronounce things different in the west. For example, people think "Cao Cao" is "Cow Cow" when its more Sow Sow". Zhuge is like "Chookee" and Sai or Bai is like Say or Bay. Makes learning Mandarin or them learning English more tricky, thats for sure. They read from right to left as well. I think the guy who runs this channel speaks it. I have never heard him butcher a pronunciation.
