Our starting 5 is quite solid.... where we will lose our games is in the tooling and developing of the bench... we aren't a deep team. Our front line will eat... but beyond that. Scoring is likely going to be thin when they are off of the floor. The progression of the draft picks IS KEY... until they can start moving as a true unit and hold their own against the benches of better teams... times will be "tough"

The bench is a big question mark, but I'm withholding judgement until they play some games bc they might surprise in the depth department. Brown having surgery is definitely a setback from the depth point of view, but it means the young guys will see more minutes which is a good thing in terms of development.

@@LucaRosano3 i'm agnostic on this one. rn it's an unknown. i understand caution, but the other hand they got some new guys from trades that have strengthened that dept. moreover a couple of their draft picks could surprise. for me it's more of a question mark than a negative

Scottie is already amazing, so it's going to be a little difficult for him to win MIP. It's possible for Quickly or Barrett to make a big leap bc they haven't played up to their potential yet. Same for Dick who I expect to take a giant step; but he's a sophomore, so he's not going to win no matter how well he plays. In any case, nobody will be disappointed if none of the Raptors win the award if they improve as a team. I think every fan who paid attention to how the last season went with the disruption of old players leaving, new players arriving, Yak getting injured, and all of that chaos senses that they can win a lot more games this season than they did last year. Go Raptors!

I immediately discount the opinion of anyone who doesn't think sophomore players should be considered for most improved. It's the year they improve the most, I would offer that is the most likely group of players for MIP to come from.

I’d like to hear more about who starts the year on the team (spots 11-15) particularly with some disappointing injuries already. I’d like to see Carlson get a chance with some real minutes at C, a 7 footer who can shoot and play D is a rare and important piece if he can handle the NBA game. Super disappointing that Brown is out and now even harder to trade. I think 10th is the most realistic spot and sort of NBA purgatory. Excited to see if Dick slots in and handles starting and can keep up above average 3% at a consistent volume.

With Brown out, Dick will start and be the first to sit on the bench each game. Theyll make sure to have either Barrett or Barnes on the floor with th bench guys to help stabilise our terrible depth. Dick Walter Chomche, these guys are so young and need to develop quick, in 2-3 years our strength as a team will depend on how much of an impact they can deliver.

I think the Raptors will purposely throw games this season, especially against mediocre teams. I can see them beating playoff teams at home to crowd please but ultimately “tank” when they show progress. Once they lock a top 5-7 pick next year they’ll finally sign the necessary vets to secure the foundation of their rebuild. Scottie will systematically be utilized as the number 1 option. Quickley is turning into Maxey 2.0, and I can see Barrett developing into the level of an Ingram/Lavine by the start of the 25/26 season. In summary, they’re more talented than we give them credit for but are strategically playing into the narrative that they are a “bottom feeder” team.
