That "cliffhanger" turned out to be another DUD...and how was the medal buried in a rock slide and it was clean and fresh and not damaged in any way...no stains...no dents...nothing. Totally unrealistic!!

The entire first assessment you stated was SPOT ON how I felt. Why are they throwing away the good deeds Lucas has given to Hope Valley. This new story line is 💯 a result of WCTH wanting to rewrite Elizabeth to love Nathan instead of her already having fallen in love so sweetly with Lucas and her telling him to be governor to save her town. Last season was slightly better than the start of this season-likely to placate Lucas fans. Now they’ve given that small effort completely. 😡

I agree with you 100%...Everything that was said about Lucas was NEGATIVE...they said he was not trustworthy as if he was evil...they have totally changed him and it breaks my heart all over again. I will continue watching but I was so angry and upset by this 1st episode. It portrayed Lucas in such a negative way...not the Lucas we all love at all. How do they think this will appease anyone and bring anyone back into the fold.

Roxanne, I cannot stomach the powers-that-be's blatant pandering to the teacher-Mountie love story fandom that they seem hell-bent on making Lucas out to be the VILLAIN & make Nathan to be the 'hero' because that's the only way they think justifies FLIPPING the story for 5 SEASONS (S6-S10) of Elizabeth-Lucas falling in love & GETTING ENGAGED to doing a 180 degree WHIPLASH to the teacher-Mountie story from S1 with Mountie Jack but now with Nathan. I literally felt sick to my stomach watching S11 & now ep 1 of S12 because of the DELIBERATE ANNIHILATION of the Lucas character I fell in love with from the 1st second he came on the screen in S6 & I cry heartbrokenly watching what the creators & powers-that-be of this show have done to Lucas' character that he is now UNRECOGNISABLE to me & others who love him from S6. That to me is UNFORGIVABLE because it's a clear reflection of the creators' & powers-that-be's complete & blatant disregard for their professional INTEGRITY AND for the feelings of the show's loyal audience WHO ARE NOT blind, dead or dumb to their shenanigans & gaslighting & for the possible motivation behind those very shenanigans & gaslighting - pandering to those they perceived to be the show's 'true' fans aka the E-N fandom. To say I'm heartbroken is perhaps the understatement of the century. To listen to Rosemary so harshly, antagonistically, CRUELLY ram her words down Lucas' throat when Lucas HELPED to SAVE her life by giving ice to Lee when she came down with a raging fever due to chickenpox, it's just SO HARD TO SWALLOW. Then she compounded it by saying later to Lee when they were in their office that Lucas is a 'wildcard'? The WHIPLASH is enough to give me a concussion for life! 😭😭

@@catherinemeadows6682 I think you're right in the sense that they already HAVE lost many Lucas' fans since S11 because of how S10 ended & now with ep 1 of S12 & the way Lucas has been portrayed, it's clear what they're doing to Lucas' character which I can term as character assassination & annihilation, I believe that the few Lucas' fans who are still watching the show only because of Lucas may decide to only read reviews of the show or listen to and/or participate in podcasts like Roxanne's here just to know what Lucas is up to in the show. I for one am only watching the show for Lucas scenes but I fast-forward the other scenes ESPECIALLY the E&N scenes. Ugghhh!!🤮🤮

@@EverythingAboutHallmark I admire your tenacity & magnanimity, Roxanne, by your undying enthusiasm & loyalty to the show but I'm not sorry to say I'm not like you. I guess I can't get over the FACT that professionals who are paid to do their jobs have abandoned their professional INTEGRITY for money & they seem just fine with it because I believe that I can't ever do that. I would rather leave & do something else that doesn't require me to abandon my professional integrity & moral values for money. No amount of money is worth sacrificing who I am as a human being & a professional.

I am among those who feel too cringy over the whole debacle to watch the show myself, so I appreciate coming here to hear what some of the rest of Lucas’ fans are thinking about it in the new seasons. Unfortunately, it seems to be exactly what I thought would happen…..the odd stripping away and dismantling of the Lucas that we’ve adored from season 6 through 10….and transferring it to Nathan. It is hard to like all the character changes…..Elizabeth’s switch already in season 10 was so tough to swallow. What bothers me, and I want to know from the writers’ POV, is how they truly feel about destroying their original work of art? That is what they have literally done here. To take what was already written and do a 180 degree plot shift to turn it back to a mountie and teacher storyline and follow up with awkward character shifts to back up the misplaced plot twist totally trashes any cohesiveness and therefore trashes their own former hard-work, passion, and livelihood. The storytelling that was needed to bring the audience to this place is just not well done at all. It doesn’t bring out what talent and skill we’ve loved since season one. These writers are some of the same people who masterfully got us through Daniel Lissing’s exit. That had to have been tough. But this? To me this seems like lunacy. No actors were exiting….no one was needing to be changed……and yet it was decided to be shaken up so intensely and abruptly that there literally was zero room to get the audience there with them……UNLESS you are soooo overtaken by the mountie and teacher storyline that nothing else matters. For those people, I fear Captain Crunch could have subbed for Nathan and life would stay dandy in HV. Writing wise the leap was just too big. That is a tragedy. A long loved & adored show that I looked forward to for YEARS has become a cringe that I keep hoping may recover somehow and bring cringe relief. I don’t think it can. It is hard to think they are so overlooking. So sad. It will be my one show that was so heartwarming and special but turned so abruptly sour and untrustworthy. I have never before felt this offended as an audience member. No one wants their favorite show to come to an end. But it is a whole new level when it feels like your favorite showed ended by slamming a door in your face and killed off all your favorite characters but the show isn’t over and the favorite characters are no longer recognizable. Ugh…..😩

I also thought that naming a National Park after Goldie was ridiculous...why would anyone fall for that as a storyline?? Lucas was NEVER a manipulative person they way they are trying to paint him now. And I thought Lee donated the land so how is there a problem with it if Lee owned it?? They have made everything so convoluted that it doesn't make sense anymore.

Even his new hair style seems to be an Intentional effort to dull his natural shine Don’t get me wrong, they can try to stifle this excellent actor for the new plot (boost Nathan), but it’s impossible. His sincere expressive eyes, those dimples, Lucas will always dominate the screen! 🥰

They had to trash Lucas to prop up Nathan. I am disgusted that they are going to ruin the best character on WCTH. This is how they are trying to justify breaking up Lucas and Elizabeth. I don't care what they do I will never like Nathan and Elizabeth together. They are not believable as a couple. They are going to regret this change.

Look at how hurt Lucas was last season, Elizabeth cheating on him with Nathan with all the stares and goofy looks. She was engaged to Lucas. He saved Hope Valley when no one else could he even risked his life and now he is just dead to them Elizabeth turned out to be a witch. She promised to go too the convention with him and just left him there devasted.

We all KNOW why the previous show runner left this show from what was in S10 especially the ending, then what was in S11 & now with S12. The previous show runner did not want to sacrifice his professional INTEGRITY for money and I salute 🫡 & respect him for it. If ep 1 of S12 is anything to go by, if it's the beginning of the end of this show, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. In fact, the signs were already there from S11. 🤷‍♀️

They had a choice & they made the choice to do what they have done to the show & so they have to face the consequences of their actions especially the consequence of many people losing their jobs if the show does come to an end. We ALL have to live with our decisions & choices. This show's powers-that-be are no exception.

@EverythingAboutHallmark yes. Some fans are so hurt that they broke up Elizabeth and Lucas that they don't even want them to create a movie and series of them together. It reminds them of the pain. It's a deep wound that they made for some. I agree with the fan who was worried that the showrunner damaging this series. She has done it and very harshly. Fans are angry. I am also very angry. I don't like Nathan and never will. I only like Lucas and certain characters now. They should have kept the characters as they were and not changed them. They really should have started a separate series. Hopefully it won't last.

I am never going to like N & E but I don't understand why they had to trash Lucas. I was hoping to see Lucas move on from Elizabeth and find someone else to love. There is so much that he could do. I am just heartbroken of what they have done to him.
