I remember back when Disney first bought lucasfilm and tried to get Michael arndt to pen the script. He asked Disney if he could have a year to immerse himself in the lore of Star Wars. Disney said no because they wanted a movie by 2015. The Last Jedi was being filmed prior to the force awakens even coming out in theaters. Rian Johnson has said he was watching the dailies from the Force Awakens and making his movie from that. The man literally said he didn't know what to do with certain characters like snoke or the Knights of Ren. And then JJ comes in with 9 and tries as best he can to tie it back to his first movie. I mean just think about episode 8 in light of that. How do you even know which direction to take a sequel when you don't even know the audience's reaction to it? You don't know which characters were a hit with audiences, you don't know what they didn't like or which plot points truly resonated. It's not telling a story. It's sausage from the meat grinder

Finn might've been sidelined, ironically, due to racism. Specifically Disney's desire to appeal to the Chinese market. Rey is only their most valuable sequel character because Daisy is the only actor willing to come back. As far as I've seen, John Boyega, Oscar Issacs and Adam Driver don't want to return. An understandable and wise decision.

I cannot stand the character of Rey or watch any of the last trilogies. I completely agree with EVERYTHING you're saying. Regarding the actress, she's getting on my nerves because she's starting to believe all the hype and promos about her. She's f'ing BORING, POORLY WRITTEN and can't stand her character or ANY of the new characters. I concur with you about Anakin because if you look at the internet that is the preoccupation with every KZbinr who does Star Wars. They're always redoing "what if stories" or anything that relates to Darth or Anakin, and it's still my favorite. KK DESTROYED STAR WARS, and deserves NO RESPECT!

I guarantee you, I promise you, that even a Thrawn movie trilogy, based off the Thrawn: Ascendancy novel trilogy that follows Thrawn's rise in the Chiss Ascendancy, would be ten times more successful than a Rey movie trilogy. Lucasfilm is literally picking the worst option.

Sssoooo basically they’ve turned Star Wars into a business where the CEO forced their direction onto everyone including their customers. And now years later with failure after failure, they want to tell everyone “well, this is what we have to work with, sssooo take it or leave it” is the trashiest of trash takes from any “CEO” I’ve seen. What blows my mind is that KK is still there after all the backlash. The problem? Money talks. And so long as we continue to love Star Wars and watch everything despite our disdain, we’re likely not going to see any change.

To me, the coffin was made with Disney Sequels, and the last nail was Kenobi. That was the most incompetent screw up I have ever seen. And they still have Kenobi and Vader, but I don't want Disney to touch them ever again. Oh, and I think they have an agenda to suplant the originals with their "own stamp", and use politics as a shield against criticism.

Honestly, dude.. I would love for them to explore between *Episode I* and *Episode II*.. Seeing Obi-Wan training Anakin, watching him progress in the Jedi Temple, going out on missions together and watching his development, overall. Seeing how his connection with Palpatine began from being a young boy (like he was in Episode I; played by Jake Lloyd). But at this point, I don't trust Disney/"Kennedyfilm" to handle it well, at all and would rather them just leave it alone. At this point, it'd be better for us to maintain that mysterious element of not knowing or just imagining it in our heads, than them destroying another potentially great story.

She was handed the kingdom and Disney told us to cheer her on, when we didn’t, they told us we were the problem, thusly IMHO the only redemption for the character is maybe some dark side arc where she maybe comes out the other side being redeemed and then we can love her for the struggle same as we did with Anakin in Star Wars and Roman Reigns in WWE...

IMO, a movie based on Darth Zana would be amazing. Use the Trilogy Books, but write the story from her perspective. From being found by Darth Bane, through her training, dealing with her Master's disappointment, and culminating in her defeating him.

Thinking about how we dont have Han, Luke and Leia anymore hurts 😢 Its so sad, seeing them in the OG trilogy is so nostalgic. We couldn’t even see them and Chewie together in the garbage sequels. Smh Fans are keeping this alive, i would love to see a fan fic story with them
