I live in Valencia and I agree for almost everything concerning the cost of living there. You probably live in Ruzafa. There are cheaper (but not that much) areas and of course it depends as well in what kind of building you are living...In any case it´s difficult nowadays to spend less than 500€ for an apartment. Good video.

Ngl for food I’d just go with a 10kg bag of rice , some sauce , eggs , and cheap meat (parts that aren’t seen as valuable as others or buy in mass and put it in freezer) . For breakfast and dessert just frozen fruits/ standard cereals . A survivor diet to save some money . It is at the cost of a social life and a relationship, but gotta make choice sometimes in life lol .

Just wanted to pop in and say great video! We'll be moving to Valencia in November. Additional info for apartment-hunting: try not to go in summer, or right before summer. Owners might want to rent their apartment short term, therefore there are less available and at a higher price. Autumn is probably the best season to start renting long-term. If you don't speak spanish well, either hire a translator or go to a real estate agency which speak english and spanish too. Forget emailing owners, and everyone in Valencia or Spain. I heard it everywhere, that they like to talk on the phone, and you'll have a much higher success rate of answers if you just dial them. I think costs can be managed, and Valencia could be a relatively cheap place....BUT spanish culture is to eat out a lot. So if you say "When in Rome...", and start going out even for just a couple of tapas or tostados and beer or wine, you can easily spend 30 eur for 2 people (eating 2-3 tapas and drinking 1-2 beer and 1-2 wine). Do that 4 times a week and you can spend almost 500 eur (without going to a restaurant to eat regular dishes) on top of your lunch, groceries and other expenses

Great video...thanks for sharing. My wife and I would like to spend May, June, and July in Europe and Valencia is one of the places we'd like to spend a month or more in if we can afford it. Problem is that furnished apartments we've seen on Airbnb in Valencia are very expensive for these months and out of our budget. Do you have any tips on how we can find a furnished studio for about 800-900 Euros a month somewhere accessible to city center by public transport and walking?

Rent cost you mentioned would you get me a small closet where I live now. A two-bedroom apartment here is a minimum of $2,500 and you can easily spend over $4,000 for a more premium location. A very small house purchase is around half a million dollars.

Hey I hope somebody replies to this 😅… I’m looking to move to Valencia from London where I have lived for 5 years.. I am selling my property BUT I’m only wanting to RENT in Valencia!! Bit of background of my situation.. I have a LTD British company but I work 14days at sea in the Netherlands and live the other 14 days at home in UK, so I would not want to work in Spain/Valencia. I’d like to simply rent an apartment in Valencia and do the same exact same as I’m doing now in London work 14 days offshore in Netherlands where I live on a vessel 🚢 and then spend the other days in my rented accommodation in Valencia. COULD I DO THIS? What would I need? I have no ties at all , no kids,no girlfriend, no debts, is this possible as I’m not sure how having a British LTD company would effect me living in Spain .. apologies for the long message and probably confusing to some but there we go 😅 anyone living in Valencia who could help me out it would be much appreciated👌🏼🤝🏼 thanks

Why is food and liquor so costly in The US?
@Biancaviolin2 жыл бұрын
What are costs upfront renting, like how many months of rent in deposit and eventually agency fees, if I were to rent a small apartment via Fotocasa and the such, or is are these sites between private people? Asking this because in France it's usually 1 month of rent deposit you pay before moving in, and nearly 1 month of rent to pay to an agency if I rent via an agency which is why I usually search up private owners renting to avoid that fee! Gracias :D
@LucasGuanes2 жыл бұрын
Hi, unfortunately it is the same costs you are describing, most are agencies, but there are private listings too. Saying that, we were given almost the entire month of August (when we were moving into the apartment) for free, so I guess that evens it out

Lucas- By dividing Part 1 and Part 2, are you saying that your eating out costs are IN ADDITION to the fixed monthly expenses? If so, then what is your total monthly expense? Or are you saying that the 400 Euros you spend on food/groceries INCLUDES eating out? Not sure what you mean by fixed monthly expenses (versus total monthly expenses). Really interested in your TOTAL monthly expenses. Finally, what do you think your apartment would rent for right now? Thanks, Bob
@LucasGuanes2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob, thanks for pointing it out. Yes, fixed monthly expenses are those we always have to pay, everything else like eating out, clothing or ad hoc expenses are on top. The 400€ is just for groceries i.e. supermarket food. Going out for lunch or dinner would be additional to the final figure in part 1. Hope that answers your question. This apartment right now would rent for 750€ approximately (without furniture)
