@@dannys_85 Hey Dannys! you can join i absolutely, inktober is more about pushing yourself than doing every single day. Just jump into it today or tomorrow and do it relaxed. Do the days you can do and don't feel bad if you have to skip some :)

Probably my comment will be very late but one of the most opaque inks I have ever worked with is sumi ink (use with brush or at most dip pens, though even the last ones might be troublesome). It is incredibly opaque, entirely waterproof and one of the most affordable and easy to get brand is Kuretake. Alternatively, india ink. India ink you can also dilute with water to get gray tones and can work with it similarly to watercolour. As for the white pen of choice, Posca white paint pens in various sizes.

A couple of inking supplies i love is the kuretake sumi brush pen no13 (it has a shorter brush than the pentel making it more easy to control if you have shaky hands like me), it costs £13ish on amazon and tho the ink that comes with it isn't waterproof you can refill the cartridge with a waterproof brush pen safe ink with a blunt needle. The ink i use is the platinum carbon ink as its fountain and brush pen safe, its super dark and its waterproof. Some super good dip pen nibs are the deleter ones as they hold even more ink than the ones you used in the video, they have small grooves, kinda like the feed in a fountain pen but on the actual nib instead of a separate piece behind it. another good option for dip pens is glass ones as they hold a ton of ink, the only downsides are that its a consistent line width (which might be a bonus for you idk) and due to the fact its glass its very breakable. i accidentally broke the end of mine (don't dip glass pen in a glass bottle if you have shaky hands) and it kinda writes but the ink flow isn't as good as it was when i first got it. if you hate roller-balls like me but you want white highlights use either the bleedproof white ink (i forget the brand)or a posca pen in extra fine. the first option will leave a slight texture but the posca doesn't. If you want a waterproof white the best option I've found is acrylic, surprisingly the daler rowney system 3 paint is more opaque than the Windsor and newton paint. i hope someone finds this helpful ^w^ and if you need any more info about the stuff I've mentioned feel free to ask :0

The gold Speedball ink is very opaque. in fact, it is more opaque over white than black. I'm trying Inktober for the first time this year and I prefer using the ink with a brush than a dip pen. the dip pen runs out of ink to quickly. doing Inktober is kind of difficult because I have not been drawing the past month because of school.

I know you are talking about brush pens but I have a question about regular watercolors brushes that I already have. Do I need to have dedicated brushes for ink or can I use my watercolor brushes without them getting ruined by the ink? Im about to buy my first set of inks and dont know if I should buy some brushes too just for them. Dont wanna hurt my brushes and I dont know how inks work! Please let me know. Thanks! 😊

Uff I really am not sure about this, but I would tell you that if you wash your brushes good after using them, there shouldn't be any problem

Try Noodlers Heart of Darkness, it's a fountain pen ink, but it lives up to the name in terms of opacity. As far as I know it is waterproof as it is in their eternal line. You could probably grab a sample online somewhere and it would come in a vial great for transportation, side note, small vials are great for transporting ink on the go.

I've always wanted to try inktober I am planning to this year. I love sketchbooking drawing I already own tons art supplies but I am not sure what is allowed to use "that is why I am here". So I have tombow, copic,ohuhu,pantel brush pen/markers are all of these allowed then? I am a little lost. I thought it was literally pens & ink diping pens/ink 🤔 only? Please please tell me what it is I can use lol I just want to learn the supplies that are allowed for ink tober. As for ink I have all colors of Dr. Martins bombay ink I assume those are allowed hence (ink)😅 anyway let me know if I can use all of those marker brush pens etc I mentioned. I own dip pens already. Yes, that is the best signal white pen in my opinion too🥰 i know its a stupid question but is acrylic allowed? Jus lil bit ? 😅😅

You can use other materials too. 🙂 I just use Pigma Microns and a fountain pen filled with waterproof ink.

I didnt find a good brushpen, that's worth buying, in the Art stories nearby, so I just use waterbrushes, filled with Black waterbased ink, as brushpens
