Great performance! I played that at Leipzig Gewandhaus on its musica nova series several years ago.

Human beings are simple . Contemporary Lit,film, architecture, painting and contemp music ain't. And very little music written since 1910 is beloved or remembered or performed as much as Rameau and Handel(though that too is changing.I jus' saw Malcolm Xin republican whitecaucasian WestPalmBeach ,Florida and Terence Blanchard's Champion will be shown too. That so little of the music can be remembered after hearing it may not matter to composers?. Who is that off camera singing . An Iranian farmer ? What is Signor Berio want to accomplish here .I love hearing Kathy do his stuff but it seems you got to do a lot of reading to even get his ideas that's how music is mostly nowadays -and actually that is a good thing. But if you just listen the experience is something too. Vilists sounds like a farmer too out in da feilds . Berio did a bunch of folk stuff so musicology may be a part of these noise/music . Roy harris wrote a concerto for violin with only percussion and it's great . This too is unforgettable experience but you won't remember da music ? Or will ya ? Athematicism is a grea thing -it's my thing but a bunch of events without a repeat or easily memorable line raises a lotta questions. Much ado is quickly forgetten and maybe like life that is the point. we feel like we own a Mozrt violin concerto but the Berg for me is always new music .
