DIY HANGING PLANT WALL! Here’s a cute home decor idea: minimal glass test tube propagation for small space living! Looking for a plant accent wall in your home? Here’s how to build a plant wall on a low budget! It’s the perfect way to add some greenery to your space!! I recently added this to our New York City apartment (it’s entryway/hallway decor), and I am obsessed! Looking for plant wall decor ideas? Look no further!
In this video, I share our current plant collection and how I created clippings for propagation. I do snake plant water propagation, money tree water propagation, pancake plant water propagation, jade plant water propagation, and more using various succulents and vines! The process is SO simple, and it’s really easy to get started creating a similar look in your own home. Below, I give you all of the materials you need to order and ways to properly clip and cut plants for your test tube holders!

I had a lot of fun learning more about my plants, and I worked hard to prepare for the clippings' cuts and care. I even got a few plant pieces from a friend and my mom to add to our growing collection! After all of the clippings were prepared, I made sure to properly clean out the test tubes and began taking a look at how I wanted all of the pieces to be arranged on the wall. I mocked it up in my Instagram stories to see what looked the most beautiful!
There was a bit of handiwork involved to get the test tube hooks onto the wall, but I was really happy with the look of the hooks that came with the test tubes (instead of using a command hook or a large nail). They’re small white hooks with 2 tiny nail inserts, so they don’t leave a huge hole in the wall. Altogether, the tubes looked great up against our white wall!
After the tubes were fastened onto the wall, in came the fun part! I placed all of the plant clippings inside the tubes, fixing and arranging them based on leaf style. I made sure to space out similar styles, so they weren’t all grouped together.
I finished off by adding some more water to the tubes, and I plan on keeping an eye on my wall daily to keep the plants’ water supply full and fresh!
