She is 18 now, still singing and still touching your soul. She is a beautiful, genuine, soul with a heart of gold, who deserve's her talent and works hard to keep it polished. Her latest video was released on Saturday, just her standing in a church, singing while her father played the organ. So simple and pure. It's called Gesu Bambino. There are two more videos from Hollands got talent. The semi. and the final. Then there are many concerts she has appeared in. They are all brilliant, though some are jaw dropping. Amazing Grace. Ave Maria Gomez. Oh mio babbino caro with Andre Rieu, nella fantasia, ( live in concert). Just enjoy them.

Her comment about going to the Olympics as an athlete is not a piece of childish silliness - by the age of nine she had already won long-distance races. Commentators who know Amira, and certainly know more about athletics than I do, have said that, had she concentrated on athletics, she could well have reached Olympics standard.

Welcome to the world of Amira, Lucie. I would endorse Olaf's recommendation. After Andre's master class the improvement is extraordinary. Amira is 18 now and has sung in numerous locations around the world. Now living in South Africa, she has recently completed her schooling and is hoping to go on a world tour. You might appreciate the two arias she sung at her school concert in 2018. For fun see Little Drummer Boy, featuring the Mzansi Youth Choir.

Exactly my reaction when I came across this video by chance late one night early in 2015! I had to play it over and over to believe it.. and then wondered how I had never heard of this Amira! I strongly recommend, as you have started with her very first performance that you follow it by reacting to her next, semi final performance of Ave Maria in this competition, and then her final performance of Nessun Dorma which won her the competition with 50% of the vote. After that the journey through to her 18 year old self today in spectacular following stage performances begins for you. She has just finished secondary school and has taken a year off to travel etc before going to university next year in South Africa where her mother is from andshe has lived since her early teens when she her brother and mother moved there from the Netherlands.

Now you've met Amira. Be careful because her singing is addictive. She sang that same song about 6 months later to an audience of 10,000 people. About half the audience was in tears when she finished. That performance was even better than this. She did 2 more performances on the Got Talent series that are worth the listen. Each time she sang it just got better. She's just finished high school and will be doing a world tour this year. By the way, she wasn't joking about the Olympic athlete. She is an Olympic grade long distance runner. Been doing that since she was 7.

I remember watching that video just a few weeks after it happened. I can't believe it has been ten near years. Definitely check out more of her stuff, doesn't even really matter which content from her channel. I personally prefer if you go in chronological order so you can see her improvement but really that is up to you. You could go backward if you want, it's your channel. She's truly one of The Greats. She took some time off and did not go full-tilt into her career. She wanted to have a (relatively) 'normal' childhood before she would go all-out in her singing. She did some sporadic things at big events for certain holidays but she and her family were very adamant about keeping her from being over-worked. Her brother is also pretty good as a violinist. I had actually hoped for some content of both of them on the same song or in the same videos.
