If you watch Vaggie when Lucifer hugs her she clutches her chest and touches the X over her missing eye, which was at the same moment Lucifer seemed to look for her halo. Maybe her looking nervous when meeting him has less to do with his reaction to her dating Charlie and more to do with her being scared of him realizing she was a fallen angel and revealing her. This might be a stretch and not that deep but when he hugged Vaggie it looked like he avoided wrapping his arms around the middle of her back where her wings would be. It's probably nothing and I'm probably reading too much into it but my theory is that he was avoided hugging where her wings would be bc her wings had been ripped off

I like to think we'll get an episode with Lucifer and Vaggie bonding and talking about their experiences with being kicked out of heaven. He's probably never had anyone who could relate to what he went through, same for Vaggie. I think they could help each other heal from some of the trauma heaven inflicted on them.

Lucifer knew instantly he saw. As a higher ranking angel, him a Seraphim which is the highest ranked angel, he can see lower ranking angels even if they are concealing their angelic nature. He didn't say anything cause it's not his secret to tell and Vaggie may be hiding it for her own reasons.

Frame by frame definitely makes it look like he knows on sight His eyes WIDEN before she is mentioned as Charlie’s girlfriend. He gets very friendly with vaggy IMMEDIATELY opposed to the others where he seems to have an angelic distaste, he hugs her below her wing scars. His eyes widen in horror as he looks above her for any sign of a halo and then he smiles softly and says “she’s so pretty” with an almost understanding smile then everything keeps moving forward he doesn’t go “no offense you seem lovely” when describing how SINNERS are terrible vicious psychopaths like VAGGY IS DIFFERENT! It’s the same energy as when vaggy says “your people” it’s a small detail but after complimenting her and being very friendly and KNOWING SHE IS RIGHT THERE! He chooses “our people are AWFUL!” Like he KNOWS this won’t upset Charlie’s girlfriend… the entire time he seems to regard vaggy as “safe” and maybe younger angels don’t notice it immediately but i can imagine sera might have even noticed because in the song “welcome to heaven” she states DIRECTLY TO CHARLIE AND ONLY TO CHARLIE “of course it is just temporary I’m sorry you can’t stay” and no one seems to really look at vaggy in heaven as “fallen”

I say they don’t look at vaggy as fallen because IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIAL SERA SAYS “you could end up like LUCIFER, FALLEN” implying that vaggy is not a fallen angel but rather an angel that got her halo and wings ripped away from her… “I can’t bear to see you suffer that fate” also do we ever see Lucifer’s blood? We know Charlie bleeds red and vaggy bleeds gold but in the case of Lucifer… as he is our fallen does he bleed gold or red?

Also it’s IMPOSSIBLE to know but if you look at the OBVIOUS color changes to his wings from being a seraf you can even make the interesting hypothesis that that moment vaggy got her wings BACK was the moment she DECIDED to fall as her wings look different to the exorcist wings. Choosing passion and love out of duty and what she was made for. If Lucifer has golden blood then this makes this prospect all the more likely.

This also could relate to how Lucifer has horns in place of the halo and when the snake rings around his head it looks almost like sera’s elaborate crown halo. As we see the eyes show up across the bottom of his suit because he is in his full form.

I saw a fanfic where Vaggie reveals the angel thing after she gets blackmailed by Adam. And during the trial, Charlie says to Lute, "Vaggie didn't fall, you *pushed* her!" And I think that's the perfect analogy for explaining the differences between Lucifer's fall and Vaggie's fall. Because Lucifer just got yeeted into Hell, while Vaggie was fucking MUTILATED. Also, I wanna see Charlie and Lucifer's reactions to hearing that *Lute* was the one who hurt Vaggie. Charlie already doesn't like Lute, and that reveal would push it up to 11. Meanwhile, Lucifer would just look at Sera like "You fuckin' serious?"

I thought it was silly when I read the title, but he DIRECTLY looks at where her halo would be, raises his hand, shows surprise (seemingly over nothing) and immediately deflects and keeps talking. That was 100% intentional and a "blink and you miss it" moment. You are definitely correct on this one. Why else would he do that? Alastor wasn't directly behind her, no one was, why would he be looking directly up, unless he was looking for the halo and then surprised it wasn't there but didn't want to upset Vaggie (and by proxy Charlie). So cool there is such a minute detail.

Not only was he looking for her halo, but she put her hand over her missing eye with the X, she also probably knew at that moment that he had figured it out. Also Vaggie isn't a fallen angel, unlike Lucifer, her blood which we see in the final battle, is still shiny like the other angels, whereas Lucifer's (which we see in his hell's greatest dad song) is golden, but no longer shines. She was not banished by a higher up, merely left there. I really hope we get a moment where Vaggie and Lucifer talk about what heaven was like or something similar to that!

Well, he could also point to her/her face and not look "above her head" but into the eyes of Charlie, who was taller than him. Honestly, Lucifer doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut, and an exorcist with his daughter would rather make him panic than make such a sweet scane. I think he was nice to her because she was a kind of rescue from his daughter's potential relationship with his new enemy. I love Vaggie/Luci duo lot but I don't think this theory is true, Lucifer has such a trauma with Heaven that seeing an angel would be a shock for him.

Lucipher is both a seraphim and an archangel, because he was the leader of a group. Specifically, he was the archangel of music. He was the leader of every angel of music regardless of their chior and wrote the songs of praise for God still sung to him to this day. An archangel is any angel in a leadership position. It has nothing to do with their strength or chior. I think you're confusing Abrahamic angelic hierarchies with neodionissian angelic hierarchies. In neodionissian angelic hierarchies the archangels are just messengers, but that religion hasn't existed in 2017 years. Hazbin Hotel is based on Gnosticism which used the division of angelic hierarchies and archangels as I just described. So archangels are just the leaders of a group of angels. Adam and Sera, for example, would both be archangels. They have vastly different amounts of power. Their title as an archangel would have nothing to do with how powerful they are, just the fact that they lead other angels.

The lowest tier of angel is literally formless and just speaks as a disembodied voice but can't interact with the mortal plain physically. The strongest are orbs of light. All of them are celestial and therefore shapeshifters. Angels were not originally allowed to appear in a form that looked human, because humans were made in God's image, so to look human was to look like God, which was forbidden until seeing the shapes they did take literally scared multiple humans to death. Humans cannot comprehend true angelic forms with their physical senses. Angels work by eldrich monster rules. Once again, their appearance has nothing to do with how powerful they are because celestial beings do not have appearances. They don't have physical senses to understand appearances. They don't see through their eyeballs transcribing light signals to electrochemical signals that travel through a series of dendritic pathways to their occipital lobes. That's just not a thing they do. Any angel that looks human has specifically shapeshifted to take the form of a human. Their rank has nothing to do with that, other than they were high ranking enough to be allowed to mimic God. The idea of angels being physical beings with concrete forms with organs and specific body placements and whatnot is not present in any study of theology to my knowledge. It would completely change the very nature of what an angel was if they were physical creatures with physical forms rather than celestial creatures. So I'm not sure where you heard that.

Given that Lucifer wasn't just any angel, but THEE angel and the most perfect creation ever ever, he probably remembered Vaggie from his days in Heaven, even probably body-ing her during the rebellion (she got better, obviously). So him missing the crown is probably just him surprised that Vaggie isn't just visiting, she's here to stay. Afterall, he may act like a goober, but if he were a D&D character all of his skill checks have a +yes modifier and his memory don't trip up. So yea, he had Vaggie figured the moment he spotted her, and Vaggie would very obviously know him back.

One thing that I think also helped Lucifer figure out Vaggie was an angel is that when he hugged her he could have probably felt the scars that she would have (considering the size of Vaggie's wings and her bloodloss at the time leaving on the verge of passing away when Charlie found her, it must have left huge scars on her back that could most likely be felt through clothes) since his arms were around the place her wings used to be at that time

And her accent is different to any exorcists, and she has children in hell which would not make sense at all. Another thing to add to the "Lucifer immediately knew" theory : Characters from Heaven (Emily, Sera, Adam, Vaggie) are drawn with a blue outline whereas characters from Hell (like Charlie or Angel) are drawn with a dark red outline. It's subtle but it's there, and it's another hint given to the viewers regarding Vaggie's identity - she's the only one in Hell with a blue outline iirc. I believe it's something that not only us viewers can notice and that Lucifer noticed too

See the aspect of them fearing an uprising makes no sense… they’ve stated they don’t have the ability to hurt angels. Meaning no matter how many there are they can hurt you. So why the need to cull them?

Lucifer was really not even like bare minimum involved in Charlie's life. He didn't even go "so are you still doing the rehab hotel thing? Any new patients?" or "How's Maggie doing?" which are sort of things I would expect even a minor friend to know about you.

If you look closely when Charlie introduces vaggie, lucifer looked surprised before Charlie says that she's her girlfriend. It takes him a second to get a look at her then he probably realizes that she's a fallen angel right before he find out she's Charlie's girlfriend

I am curious if Lucifer can go as big as a skyscraper It is possible that all the deadly sins can Like Mammon Ozzie and queen bee we all see them grow big so I am curious if he can to or is that the only form he got when we saw when he gets pissed like when Adam attacked him while he was holding Charlie Which also makes me wonder how come alastor is the only sinner who can grow big like the deadly sins (he the only who is confirmed can) when he not a deadly sins or anything? I have a Theory about the state of hell. What if when Lilith was building Hell up it was just like Heaven but with more souls. My thoughts of that is that they were creating a army of their own like the Exorcist Angels. With that happening it lead to Sera getting fearful and allowed Adam's plan to do Extermination Day once a year. Which had lead to the destruction of Hell into what it is in present day. I believe that Dooms Day town is where they had all the scientific research located and after so many failed attempts at defending Hell from the Exorcists had lead them to creating the Dooms day town with all their inventions having kept blowing up and failing to create away to stop the anal threat to Hell. The only ones who can truly confirm this theory is the creators of the show, Lucifer and the 7 Deadly Sins since they where there at the creation of hell

I'm sure some have heard this theory before, but what if Vaggie is not fallen and is still an angel. Does it make sense that Adam could decide who gets kicked out of Heaven? Not to me. (Also note that her wings came back) Lucifer may not have been looking *for* Vaggie's halo, but *at* it. It may no longer be physically there but the spiritual/metaphorical halo may still be there but can't be seen normal denizens of Hel/Purgatory. Just an idea. sm

I deem this "CARTOON THEORY" Plausable, but not probable. The slight midair grabbing at where a halo should be is very weak evidence, but the curcumstantial evidence that Lucifer would be the person best equipped to detect a fallen Angel is very convincing, thus the rating of plausable and that their is a chance of this being confirmed by Medrano lore drop or in the show itself.

It should be noted that Lucifer was most likely not just an angel, but a seraphim, the highest order of angels. He's also older than humanity itself, and is probably among the eldest of angels, not to mention the first to fall. It'd be one thing for a low ranked angel like Vaggie, or a young one like Emily to not recognize a fallen angel right away, but Lucifer? There's no fucking way that he's not going to spot that in an instant.

Something else I noticed is the fact that there's a child sinner in the first place. And the kid looked and seemed to act relatively young. Gives an idea of how f/cked the judgement system is if a child can go to Hell for something they may not have even realized was sinful when they were alive. It makes sense that an adult would go to Hell because they knew the concequences of their actions, but the same can't be true for a child. But Heaven doesn't care. Be perfect or go to Hell.

....hhhmm a thought just came up. If vagy had access to angelic weapons and angelic weapons are the only kind that can kill angels why didn't she come out with the info sooner? I mean if she knew then she could've organised a force or killed a few angels herself so there'd be less exterminations etc

Here's the interesting thing, to me anyway, where are the famous angels (ties into your point about an army pre Adam). The seven deadly sins are a classic part of CHristian demonology down to the name and some aspects of the appearance (Asmodeus having 3 heads for example or Beelzebub's association with bees vs raditional association with flies) it seems odd that the archangels (Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, and so on there's different names on the list and usually 7) never get mentioned. I know the series doesn't remotely follow CHristian theology but there's enough inspiration the absence seems odd and maybe deliberate. Maybe we'll see them in later seasons and Michael, as the one traditionally credited with kicking Luci out of Heaven, might explain some connections.

theory: lucifer and vaggie are fallen angels. but i realized. carmilla's side profile looks the same as sera's side profile. so there is a chance she is also an ex seraphim. and as you said. an angel can recognize another angel instantly. fallen or non fallen.and thats why carmilla knew vaggie was a ex exterminator
