Maybe Tony is a super thoughtful gentleman, dad, brother, or boyfriend. He always is prepared for the woman in his life. My husband kept a box of tampons with a few pads in the glove compartment of his car for our daughter and myself. We could always count on him to go to the store for anything 💜 When our cycles would sync up he would often figure it out before we even started…. There were many a months where my daughter and I would be a bit sassy with each other. He would show up with chocolates, ice cream, and movies. Tell us we needed girl time and “ground us” to my room. Throwing all the goodies on the bed 😂. Best hubby ever! Or maybe Tony is a creep 🤷♀️

As a nurse, the only thing I can say is that a sanitary pad or tampon would be reasonable to use for wound care as a dressing. They’re sterile, so long as they‘ve remained in their packaging. Also as for the cough syrup, honey is better than cough syrup, just a spoonful of honey or honey in tea. Works a charm :)
@D4rk3n1ng_St4r2 жыл бұрын
Cool!! info straight from a Nurse. That means you can (probably and hopefully) trust it!
@dr_jaymz Жыл бұрын
yep they make good field dressings and you normally haven't had them in a first aid kit for 27 years, you can make good compression bandages, cold presses etc - far better that bog roll. For honey, it does work as its antibacterial with an indefinite shelf life. However, that effect is destroyed by heat so its much more effective on its own straight off a spoon and leave it at that than adding to tea. Or probably have the tea first to soothe your throat then have the honey to let it fight the bacteria.

The only thing that makes 5 minute crafts worth watching is Kris’s reactions to them.I would love to know who creates these five minute crafts and why. The only one of these that actually works is the chapstick one. Chapstick helps when you have a cold and the outside of your nose is dry and sore from blowing & wiping it. It also helps if you’re on oxygen and the tubing irritates your nose. The pharmacist actually told me about this and I keep a chapstick just for my nose but the rest of these 5 minute crafts are ridiculous. The medication ones for children are terrible.I could watch Kris judge them all day long though. She’s so funny and so right. So, weirdly enough...the teabag for a toothache actually does work if the toothache is from an infection or abscessed tooth. Do it before bed, it works as a poultice and draws out the infection, and the toothache goes away. Idk how or why it works, but I can personally attest it works like freaking magic.
@MullingInk2 жыл бұрын
If you’re using black or green tea, the tea leaves have tannins in them that have some antibacterial properties, but probably the biggest way they help is that tannins tend to dehydrate the tissue there just a little, which alleviates the swelling just a bit. It’s not a cure, but a decent stopgap. Mint teabags can have a cooling and numbing effect due to menthol (something creams like IcyHot use to their advantage). Cloves are actually a fairly good local anesthetic, and have been used to alleviate tooth and gum pain since at least the Middle Ages. Source-multiple classes on medieval medicine, personal experience, the usual layman/general public medical information sites.

If you have a really bad infected tooth and eventually the pain goes away, it's probably because the infection just killed the nerve. Congratulation, you now need a root canal at a minimum.

Just so you know at 6:10 is a very common way to help relieve tooth pain and to pull out infection. People here in the U.S. can't always afford going to the dentist all the time so they do things like that to temporarily fix the problem until they save up for the real deal. No hate just thought I'd inform you and others just in case.

Super glue was originally made for a quick battlefield wound closing method. It is surprisingly effective and since the cyanoacrylicate (sp?) Glue has nothing to support bacteria or viruses its surprisingly sterile. Pva glue is decently good at not having anything grow in it and should not be used since it takes so long to dry out and cure. Superglue is a staple for me in my first aid kit and crafts with the activator to let it set even faster. Its amazing stuff. And the solvent flashes off so fast that it doesn't enter the body
@metalboy5150 Жыл бұрын
I was hoping someone would say this. There's nothing harmful about putting glue on a wound, although, as you intimated, I doubt Elmer's Glue would really help much, takes too long to cure, but superglue is dandy, and not the least harmful v

Yep, the chapstick thing does work (I use vaseline though). It doesn't really do much other than make it less raw to the touch and soothe it a bit, but sometimes even that is a win
@DrCamburn3 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure this is meant to block allergies, vaseline commonly relieves allergic rhinitis, as it catches some of the allergens. Not that the video makes that clear.
@L-tl7rz3 жыл бұрын
Arrya I’m with you! I use the chapstick method sometimes as regular hand cream can sting like a… so yes it helps when the skin is raw. I do it less now when I changed tissue paper to the ones that have aloe vera in them.
@arryarhine3 жыл бұрын
@@DrCamburn really? I didn't know that, but I use it when I'm sick and my nose is rubbed raw, not as a block against allergies. Thats pretty cool though, I'll try it sometime!
@arryarhine3 жыл бұрын
@@L-tl7rz thx lena! And yea, I try to never use regular hand cream. As for the tissue thing, what brand do you use? I often use the Plus Lotion Puffs tissues, but those don't always do a lot
@DrCamburn3 жыл бұрын
@@arryarhine Yeah it's something commonly advised when a patient has bad hayhever, although any allergies effecting the nose could be included. It's good as it doesn't interfere with any allergy medicine you take, although most of them are fine to combine to build a more complete treatment plan, so it's always worth getting a patient to try.

The teabag thing can actually help a toothache, depending on the tea. That is, of course, only for until you get to the dentist. It just helps the pain, not the cause.

Also, the skin of an egg is actually super useful to stop the bleeding of puncture wounds - especially if you accidentally puncture an artery (in an accident, e.g.). You should still seek out medical care but it can definitely keep you from bleeding out
