Simon strong is so underrated. He’s sweet & funny but he has strong convictions and isn’t afraid to assert himself in his own way. Was blunt about his distaste for Larys & openly accused him of murder, took him only a short time to immediately send Rhaenyra a warning letter even if was afraid of Daemon. He’s sarcastic & yet kind, but he’s no fool. He got Daemon to pay for Harrenhal being fixed lol. Soft power RULES. He’s the perfect parallel to daemon. He’s wise enough to realise you don’t have to beat people down to get shit you want done.

According to Theon, direwolves have not been seen south of the wall since circa the time of the Great Council of 101 AC, which we see in the opening scene of the first HOTD episode in season 1. Since then, the only sightings have been north of the wall, up until Ned finds the dead direwolf with the pubs in the first episode of GOT.

@@TheDreamWyrm - I was extremely looking forward to that plot too! I think there's a chance that we can still potentially get that later down the line. My rule of thumb is that just because we didn't see something, doesn't mean it didn't happen off-camera. There could be an entire subplot in Season 4 about all the stuff that Jace got up to whilst away, and the audience has to piece it together bit by bit, since he presumably dies at the start of next season.

I figured since he was brought up in Winterfell and likely had the same upbringing as Robb and Jon, including Old Nan's stories, there could be an element of truth behind it. That being said, 200 years could be a rough figure. The Dance was around 170 years ago, and most people would probably round up when talking.

I came here to make the same comment. Obviously Helaena didn't fear the dragons at one point, actually going to claim Dreamfyre. But maybe she got all her visions at that point and got really scared. And like you said, maybe the visions are too strong or otherwise uncomfortable when she gets close to Dreamfyre. I would like such an explanation but I don't know if they will spend enough time with Helaena to actually expand on why she doesn't ride her dragon

Larys may have allowed Blood and Chesse to happen because his intelligence told him that Aemond was the target, and he was fine with that because he thought that losing Aemond would consolidate his hold on Aegon. He couldn't have known that Blood and Cheese would end up killing Jaeherys becasue they didn't know themselves until the opportunity presented itself.

Alicent is a complex case, she is impeccably written some episodes and terribly in others. She was the one who frightened her kids about Rhaenyra, the same way Otto did to her, but she knows she is not a murderer because she went to her to save herself and Helaena. She put Aegon where he is and abandoned him when she realised Viserys never changed his mind. All this could have been great, for a grey character, but the way they wrote it was odd to me. It felt like she was different every other episode.

Given what young Rhaenyra said in the vision, to me it's clear Daemon was not only jealous of Rhaenyra being the heir, but because she was also Viserys' "favourite". She said, "It's not my fault your brother loved me more than you" which then drove Daemon to cut her head off. That was a really powerful scene and realisation for us and Daemon himself I think. He needed Viserys to see him, to think of him worthy of being his heir. In s1 he tried to tell Viserys that, "you keep sending me away, I would protect you", it's more than being his hand or heir. I loved that. Gave more depth to the character.

RE: Alys being in Riverrun She was definitely in Riverrun, because her presence is corroborated. But while she was away, she was still hanging with Daemon’s consciousness. There is a shot where she very explicitly disappears right in plain sight, when Daemon’s attention shifts to Simon who has just approached him. It’s either that or a glaring editing error (and I doubt that very much)

“All you have to show for yourself is Harrenhall” you mean the largest keep in the realm in one of the most strategically important positions, along with an entire host of Riverlanders? That’s the only host Rhaenyra has pledged to her cause apart from the North. Rhaenyra managed to give away dragons to people who have no loyalty to House Targaryen, which will ultimately in part lead to the doom of dragons. The blatant hate towards Daemon is crazy 😂. And I’m not saying he was even close to the most important player or that he made the right choices, but downplaying his actual successes and then just overstating his failures is pretty biased. I just had a post wake-n-bake thought {praise garth}: If the dragons are another form of a tap to the astral realm, like the weirwoods, could it be that the whole “dragonbond” process is the fire version of the corruption of the weirwood. The dragon is invaded by this external human force, unnaturally, and they call it a dragon bond, like the weirwood was invaded by Azor Ahai. Mayhaps, the ending could result in the end of these hostile take over “bonds” with both the dragons, as well as the weirwoods.

What I'm not liking is they are changing things just for added 'drama' (in a f***ing civil war...) Not just changes from the book, but they even change things that happened in the show. One episode we have Oscar Tully talking about how the Riverlands hate Daemon, they won't follow him, the lords follow Tully and the army is for Rhaenyra. The very next episode suddenly it's Daemons army, they all act loyal to him, and there's a worry they won't follow Rhaenyra. Seriously.. how can they not remember what they did LAST EPISODE and change things purely to add in some fake drama.

Not to sound rude at all, but I feel you're looking at it very surface level. Nyra assumed Daemon was the one talked about in the letter Strong sent rather then who she sent to check on Daemon. Daemon had a moment where he "repented for his sins" infront of the river lords, he beheaded the one he was responsible for. Tully stood up to Daemon infront of the river lords, and that earned him respect so when he said he's willing to follow Daemon not because it's Daemon, but because of Nyra and the oath his grandfather took to Viserys. So it makes sense Daemon would take the time to show his loyalty, as he had to for Tully to back him. He finally found his role, and accepted it.

So when Rhaenyra turns up there should be zero doubt that it's her army, and that they are loyal to her. Yet that's not what we see. We see an army personally loyal to Daemon and there's doubt that they will follow Rhaenyra, the opposite of what Oscar was saying.

Not everyone with a connection to the old gods has to be a greenseer or skinchanger. If anything Daemon is a "greendreamer", which is a long way from a "greenseer". "Green dreams" being the term used to describe dreams or visions from the weirwoods in the books. And there are examples in the books of these dreams being triggered by contact or proximity to weirwoods. Green dreams are the most common form of old gods magic displayed in the books so far, much more common than skinchanging or greenseeing. In the books, Rickon, Jon, Arya, Jojen, and the Ghost of High Heart all have green dreams, but none of them are described as greenseers. Jamie and Theon are not even First Men, or old gods worshipers and they've both had green dreams. Greenseers have a permanent and conscious connection to the weirwoods. Greenseers can control what they see through the trees and send visions to others. Daemon has no control over the visions he receives, and doesn't appear to be sending visions to anyone. He does however appear to be having green dreams. Although there is significant overlap between greenseers and greendreamers, a distinction is made between them in the text. And Daemon is certainly looking more like the latter than the former. 😉

Missed the stream but watching you now❤ they announced there WILL be a season 4, which will be the last season. I agree, they need to give us 10 episodes for season 4. (Season 3 is confirmed to 8 episodes) if season 3 is The Gullet, The Fish Feed and Tumbleton, i think 4 will be the wrap up with Aegon taking Dragonstone, and i think it might end with The Hour of the Wolf perhaps. The God's Eye should be 4 as well, but we'll see. HBO better do right by us!! I enjoyed this season but i think last season was better. More hype, and i really miss Viserys. Their biggest mistake, however, was dropping Nettles. Like, WHY????? Yes, they Said season 3 will be 8 episodes, but: Multiple actors said filming for S3 starts this fall, now Condal said it wont start before spring of next year. I think after all the backlash for the finale being incomplete they are now negotiating with Warner/HBO to get more episodes. I really think this is the case, but for now its just speculation.

There's a difference between thinking that there is no universal truth or objectivity and looking at that and not wanting to do anything. I'm a nihilist and I want the world to be a better place. Edit: wait; Otto is supposed to be in the King's Landing dungeons not Hightower dungeons??? That changes things a lot! It means someone we already know has a secret plot, not a new plot at HT. I missed where the location was given.

They should’ve had Jace stay in Winterfell longer, Daemon less trippy dreams, he could’ve handled the Frey’s, maybe even laughed they want HH after he’s experienced it, goes back to HH, Jace gets back to DS in time to find out they’re going to do the sowing, airs his grievances, Nyra tells him about prophecy & he knows it’s true bcuz he just learned about the others.

Actress is only working with the material she has, though...same with Baela....not unfair to say they need better script writers if the strike had nothing to do with it

The difference between Corlys accepting Rhaenyra's bastards and legitimising his own is that the former wouldn't hurt his wife, but the latter would. We know from their interactions, especially the bedroom scene, that Rhaenys had a quite a lot of power in that relationship. Corlys might well have been justifiably afraid of the consequences of hurting her. There's less justification for continuing to cover up for them after her death though. Maybe it's that he's still mourning and would think it disrespectful, or maybe it's that he's got so ingrained with the idea of not acknowledging them that he can't make the mental gearshift. Alyn's attitude won't be helping with that at all, of course.
