2022, I’ve discovered John lives in Sandwich Mass, and does intimate concerts for a few dozen fans out in his fancy barn. John still has his dimples and beautiful thick white hair. He is 81 years young, I’ve always had a crush on the guy.

I was in the audience for one of his shows in 1981 with my parents, I would love to see it .

John is a marvelous host. Lucy is more relaxed than on many other venues. Beverly is so open, all guest because John gave them his wonderful unintrusive genuine courtesy.

What a treat to see Lucille so thoroughly cracked up by Jeannine Burnier. What a compliment.

Sills' entrance music was driving me crazy....I couldn't remember what aria it was, and it took me 10 minutes to realize it's the party music from act 1 of Traviata, and she never actually sings it!

I have watched Lucille Ball in many interviews ,and i'v never seen her actually enjoying herself so much ,she must'v really been fond of Davidson .Her body language with Van Johnson is like two close buddies ,never showed such closeness with even Gary or her children. Beverly Sills put her in a good mood ,by graciously telling her how she copied her in a show.Lucy returned the compliment by urging her to sing again as a favour to her fans. Gary as usual comes across as creep ,couldn't be a sport and give her that respite in the Aspens when it meant so much to her

Indeed. She was in a good mood here

Sometimes Lucille can be somewhat caustic at this point in her life. However, here she is so polite and lady like and I think she is just a doll here.

Well, Van Johnson was one of her great friends, and who doesn’t like Beverly Sills? She didn’t have to carry everything for this show. Probably wanted to be on her best behavior. Also, yeah I’ve heard the stories about how caustic she could be in real life. Caustic. Perfect word for her. But have you also noticed that on the late night shows, she always had a belt or two before going out? That gave her a different energy. One interview with Dick Cavett, she was having none of it. Was slurry and hostile. And no, she wasn’t an alcoholic but she was sure very vain and anxious, and liked to medicate it with a cocktail. You can tell here, it’s daytime and she’s stone cold alert and …. Oh wow, as I am watching this, she just mentioned Van and Beverly. Must have been a great green room that day! Don’t take me wrong, I adore her and find her in g rat humor here. I’m glad they posed this.

Yes her body language is turned toward the man and her voice is pitched up and more like “Lucy’s” voice not the lower , gravely voice she had late in life. She was clearly having a good time and In a good mood

In the dick cavette interview he looks down her blouse immediately and she reprimanded him and turned away from him and his demeaning questions about her potential failures and regrets on the evening that she was being honored for her lifetime of international entertainment. Not surprised that she is warm with an interview that is respectful of her

The best interview "Lucy" has ever done! She was relaxed and forthcoming. Its obvious she really likes John Davidison which may explain why she was willing to let her guard down. Very enjoyable.
