I and two girlfriends saw The Clash at the Cape Cod Coliseum on the 21 of August in 1982, which turned out to be Strummers [ he was something with that guitar] 30th birthday. I recall when they started to play a man got very close and tried to get up on the stage where they were play, and the security which was hired by Don Law went ballistic at the poor guy, the band was furious I wish I could recall the whole thing but I think they wouldn't play till the security men who did that left, I thought that was very upstanding of the band loved them even more after that. We also met up with after the show at a bar, I don't recall the name of the place, we And then again in Boston in Sept, I didn't know Strummer was named John Graham Mellor. My heart goes out to her, it must of been mind blowing and heart breaking to find her husband dead from a heart attack. I see, so her Joe didn't go to the doctor, the issue with my hubby was missed he did go to the doc they seemed only to care to put him on anti-depressants. off those terrible drugs years ago now. I remember cuddling head on his chest before being married, I could hear there was some issue with his heartbeat had to be very obvious with a stethoscope but they never used one, of course not all congenital heart anomalies are the same. Thank you both and be well.

I think there is a certain silence when someone dies like that. In 2002 as soon as I opened the front door after going to work to tell them I needed time off work I knew that my mum had gone whilst I was out.

That’s a great way to describe it. I experience it with two of my grandparents. Almost like a stillness settling over the entire scene.

Was your Mom young like Strummer as well 50? My cousin died at was 50 from a heart attack fell flat on the sidewalk, death is hard on the living, better kinder gentler for one to die in ones bed, very difficult for the loved one who discover them to have gone.
