It is a persimmon, not an orange. The shape of the green calyx gives it away. The tapered shape denotes it as a Japanese persimmon. Just a note from your friendly neighborhood botanist in West Virginia.

Candle holder in beginning of clip is supposed to look like that. It’s Colony glass Pink Dogwood Blossom Double Candle Holders. I’ve sold the bowl in pink and a candy dish in blue. Very pretty

You picked up some pretty pottery pieces. The clear glass bowl with the trees you passed on was actually Kosta Boda. I just got one at GW a couple weeks ago for myself. There are round platters and oblong trays that match also.

Items being trashed, I thought that only happened at my goodwill. I’m gonna be honest when I first heard this happening I vowed to not give to goodwill after witnessing this. It’s super off putting and honestly they should trash items after hours of that’s actually necessary.

If they are recycling the glass it isn’t as bad? I understand they need to move things out that aren’t selling, otherwise there wouldn’t be any room for new items to buy. And some items would set there for years. Hopefully they are recycling.

@@MCC4RTHY1 it is sad, maybe they could have a free box out and try to give the items away. At some point I guess if nobody wants the items, what else would they do with them? They can’t just keep things nobody wants, even for free on the shelves.

@@jenniferstout468 you are right but if made it on the shelves I would assume they were good items. They could have disposed of these items if they were indeed trash but doing in the middle of the day while people are shopping is very upsetting. If the things they had for sale on the shelves were “trash” does this mean what they are selling us is trash as has no value 🤔 I think the store owes it to the people who donated the items to treat the items with a little more respect. Honestly someone who was in the store could have been one of the many people who donated and I couldn’t imagine their reaction or feelings in seeing the items they carefully packed up and drove over to donate and try to bring others joy just careless smashed.

@@MCC4RTHY1 I would think if they cared that much for the items they either would have kept them or passed them on to friends and family. Most people who donate to thrift stores know there is a possibility their donation won’t get purchased. It is too bad every single item doesn’t find a home, but that is the reality. All thrift stores, not only Goodwill has to throw out stuff. It all doesn’t get purchased.

I really like the pottery pieces, and they should fetch a nice price. I haven’t been thrifting but going to consignment shops, and I have to stop going there by buying too many want items rather than need items. I did go to a Church Thrift Store, and bought many baby clothes but she didn’t want any used baby clothes. I’ll just donate them back. Live and learn.

Oh my God, are they literally destroying merchandise? I was at my local goodwill once and witness the destruction and waste of so many glass items. The way the girl was throwing them into a box ad breaking was sad and disturbing. I managed to save a few beautiful glass cups made in the US.

The 1st thingy/candle holder wasn't a orange but a paradise plant/Kaki/Hurma. It's a fruit mostly eaten in middle-eastern/Mediterranean countries. It taste's little bit like figs..It's really good and healthy..You should try it. ❤

I think the last lamp you looked at was an OTT lamp. They can be pricey when new, and crafters love them. And Edible Arrangements mugs ( timestamp 14:20, next to the textured red plate and red tea pot) do have a little value. If you can pick one up for little money, they can sell for about $8 -$18 depending on the pattern.
