I do foster care and was a vet tech a long time ago.. yep love that wet cat is vomiting somewhere sound... In fact this very morning before my much needed coffee ..how fun. Hope he is feeling better!

Hi! So I have some info to share that will hopefully give you a bit of peace of mind on the food puked up. Cats have 2 types of “puke”. One is regurgitation (undigested, generally whole kibble bits) and then vomit (purée type of texture, liquid, digested, like applesauce). Regurgitated food is pretty common and is almost inevitable with cats at one time or another. Cats generally don’t chew their food much and tend to just kinda crunch and swallow (or just swallow whole). So when they regurgitate, it mainly means they either ate too fast, got a little nauseas briefly, or ate too much. It’s pretty normal (unless it happens constantly) and is generally not a sign of illness. Vomit, on the other hand, often is a sign of a cat feeling under the weather. It’s partially digested, so it may be a sign of tummy upset or digestion concerns. Cats also will vomit from blockages like hairballs or other illness like parasites. Vomit will often accompany other symptoms like diarrhea and lethargy, hiding away. If a cat vomits more than a few times in a row or several times in a period of a few days, a vet visit is recommended. Seems to may your kitty may have Hoovered their food too quick and ended up regurgitating it. I’d keep an eye out but more likely than not he just got a bit too excited when eating!!
