Watching this series along with these reactions really does reminds me how Fairy Tail was an orphanage as much as a guild - Natsu, Grey, Erza, Mirajane, Lisanna, Elfman, Cana, Lazus. They all grew up together and whilst they're as likely to squabble as much as anything else their bond is as strong as any blood one (though of course Elfman, Lisanna and Mira are actual siblings). Makarov literally refers to them as his children, I never got why people were so negative about the show as it more than most hit me in the feels regular and often and the relationships felt authentic. It's why it's so believable to see even grown up teenagers like Lucy and Juvia who come from unloving childhoods fit in and be accepted so easily into this family unit. I recommend this show to anyone in all honesty.

Unison Raid is basically a combo between compatible magic. Lucy was using Aquarius so both water elements. Grey and Juvia may be able to do it, just maybe. Natsu might be able to do it with possible other Dragon Slayers. Erza, Grey and Natsu are the Fairy tail orphan trio. Adopted into the guild, it is their literal home and family. The three have a unique relationship with each other and the guild. They are essentially siblings, while competitive at times, they will do anything to protect each other and the guild. You haven’t seen Natsu or Erza really get serious in the series yet. A little serious? Sure.

Its alot more then just types Unision Raid is Lucy's specialty and rarely used by others cause it requires atleast one of the users to sync their magical wavelenghts with others Lucy is especially good at this because of her empathy with others think more like Soul Eater soul wave sync.

a Unison Raid basically is uniting two magics of compatible elements or natures, like Lucy's Aquarius and Juvia's water, or Grays Ice and Juvias water. It's a very potent technique that you'll only see a handful of times in the entirety of the anime because of the rather strict conditions required to pull it off, as the *magics* may be compatible but that doesn't mean the mages *utilizing* them are.

A unison raid is a form of magic fusion and can be preformed when the magic power of 2 wizards complement eachother or are compatible with eachother .....it would be cool to see Natsu and Gray do one but unfortunately fire and ice don't mix well.... hopefully this helps u understand it a little better

It's more complex than that. The Japanese 'r' is like a mix between the English l, a rolled r and a very soft d, and how it's pronounced depends on the vowel that follows it (it's softer before an 'e', an 'i' or a 'u', and harder before an 'a' / 'o' ). In addition, it varies from person to person (some people, mainly children, pronounce it like the English 'l'). And just to clarify: the English "l" is easy for the Japanese to pronounce. The English "r" is what they have difficulties with.

The way you said "Jerall" sounds closest to how his name is actually pronounced in Japanese. It's supposed to be Gerard, though, and for some reason they decided to use "Jellal" in the dub. So at this point no matter what you call him, there's always going to be someone who thinks it's wrong.

Yeah it's aimed at an older teenage audience as it's not just fan service but when people fight in the manga they really do get busted up but your lucky to see a bruise never mind blood in the anime, it's also interesting how they sometimes don't address certain deaths properly in the anime likely to keep it more family friendly. It's common with shounen anime - the likes of Naruto is the same in being much tamer on screen.

If we go by similarity of sound, 'Jeraaru' is most similar to a mix between 'Jerall' and 'Jerar'. And it's 100% supposed to be "Gerard"; 'Jeraaru' is a real name in Japan, used as a substitute for 'Gerard'. Google 'ジェラール wikipedia' and you'll find 20+ articles of people called Gérard and Gerard, but you won't find a single article of anyone called 'Jellal'. The 'je' is similar to the English 'je' (although pronounced closer to the front of the mouth), the 'ra' is similar to an English 'ra' with a rolled r, while the final 'ru' is closest to an 'l' + a weak, very short 'u' sound (and even closer to a very soft, "rolled" 'd' sound pronounced with the tip of the tongue + a weak, very short 'u' sound).

poor SMF and the pronunciations for this show lol. Most other shows it seems the mistakes are a lot more obvious but with this one they're more subtle. And also people are having a really tough time trying to explain the pronunciations too. Like here "Err-zuh" and "Air-za" are basically the same since "err' is an actual word that's pronounced very similarly to "air", as in "To err is human; to forgive, divine." but I don't think that's what's actually being said here.
