You are enough Lucy. You are so much more than an athlete. Often times we get attached to the idea of a specific label that we are really really good at. That doesn’t mean that we are only that in this lifetime. I hope that during this time of rest and recovery, you are able to take some steps back and really look in deep and understand that Lucy is many things and can be many things . The best thing about life is that we grow, we evolve , we love, we fail, we grieve, etc. Little Lucy would be so proud of you ❤

I have to agree. Ive watched your videos and I love seeing what you're doing, and your honesty is brilliant. But the magic is you. Not the racing or hyrox or lifting. Its you. What you've achieved is phenomenal.

I hope you feel ok soon, so you can train freely as you want to❤ Totally know how it can feel when your body is not where your mind is (when you’re mentally ready to put in the work, but the body needs a slower pace). I love to swim at the public pool during the summer, and can get there early in the morning and have up to two hour swims. Last summer I had issues with feeling light headed, which meant I couldn’t swim since it wasn’t safe. It felt awful because the weather and the water looked so nice. Some weeks later my doctor found out I needed more iron, which cleared the issue of light headedness within 2 months. This year everything is still sorted, and heading out tomorrow to get a membership for the entire outdoors season at the public pool. *I wish the same for you, that you will be back in no time doing what you love to the full extent, Lucy!* / Scandinavian

Oh no Lucy you are 100000% good enough without ANY racing and I hope you make sure to take some time off after this Hyrox to completely recover 🥰 I understand that you dont want to skip Hyrox but you got to know that you CAN. You have to be able to cancel and skip things, for your own good, for your long term health 🥰 You are so worthy and you dont need to do any “hard things” to earn anything, you are enough without them👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Doing all these events for social media gratification and to "prove" to yourself that you're capable of completing them is just a trap that will eventually lead to many mental problems for many people. Just go out in nature and do whatever sport you enjoy doing without constantly feeling the need to show off to the world what you've "achieved".

Tbh I've seen more and more fitness influencers getting injured lately - I have a theory that it has to do with KZbin's platform effects pushing them to workout (create content) at an unsustainable rate. Rest is the only chance of getting over this stuff.

You are more than enough without all of the races etc! You're super inspiring whatever you do. I tried a more holistic place for my hip recently as well after trying loads of more traditional physios and got cupping and acupuncture done too which seems to have worked absolute wonders!

Lucy I started my running journey last end of summer-early fall, and then in Jan of this year 2024 i started suffering from IT Band syndrome, i got better and then didn´t do any of my exercises or stretches and surprise it got worse! I a training for my first half and am noticing how different and amazing i feel when i prioritize and get ahead of any flare ups. Also, I love your channel and how honest you are. Even if you quit doing races I would still come to your channel because you are so honest and lovely and i love your perspective. and ditto on the red meat, i feel like super woman when i eat more red meat especially with training!!!!

Totally know how you feel. Have 2 slipped discs, cant exercise at the moment. In fact for the last 2 months, couldn't go to gym or do skipping (which i love). I have been feeling definitely very down and depressed... It's hard when you have an injury like this and don't actually know when it will get better or if... and you need to give up all the things you love 😔

I slated my bf for eating rice and tuna every day for years but now Lucy does it it’s cool 😅😅😅he’s gonna kill me. Ps I loveeeedddddd the podcast you did with Cassia and just to echo what everyone else says you are 100% worthy of love even if you never “did” anything again, always helpful to think what would you say to your best friend in the same situation and then be your own best friend ❤

Try fascial manipulation therapy - there are PT that work with that method. It's very useful in those kinds of injuries.. good luck

Have you considered incorporating more swimming and cycling into your routine? Maybe even transition into triathlon? Hopefully it'll be better for your hip, at the same time still give you achievable targets to work towards.

11:51 Isn’t that the point of having muscles, that you can make good use of them like crushing nuts like the Hulk?!💪🏼 In my family I have always been the one to climb trees if footballs got stuck in them, because I grew up doing gymnastics (I like this role because of thhe hero aspect when you throw down the ball, but maybe it’s about time I told them that I’m actually so afraid of heights😂).

I have one ongoing injury at the moment that I have had since I was 14, it’s also partly genetic. it’s flared up recently so I’d say I’m pretty lucky with no injuries most of the time! Usually very easy to manage 😁
