If you can hold out for a re-plaster I'd recommend that. I used to paint pools...they are unpredictable and many potential problems down the line. Save your money and have it re-plastered. The warranty is much longer and you have less problems. Just my opinion. Lucy

Certainly...Products are from Biodex. Plaster White N Brite helps acid cling to walls and helps cut down on fumes. Aquadex 50 Stain Treatment added to the solution helps pull stains out of the plaster. I would not do an acid wash without these products if I could help it. If you go to my website www.lucyspools.com and look under Product Recommendations I have them listed there. You can either buy them from Amazon or at your local pool store. If they don't stock them, they should be able to order them but it may cost you more. All the best, Lucy

Hi Lucy, We are putting in a new pool and they plastered it today, blue color plaster. They have the hose in the pool adding water. In the deep end, there is an area where the plaster isn't blue, it's whitish, about 12" in diameter so it really shows up. Will the color even out? What is your advice? Thanks so much.

I'm so sorry I just saw this. The problem with colored plaster pools is that the color is never an even solid color. Most of the time when you sign the contract you are acknowledging that. If you have a streak down the middle that is quite obvious then I may talk to the plaster company. If they won't either fix it or refund some of your money, the only recourse you may have is to call the contractor's board. They will send an arbiter out to help resolve the situation. Keep brushing as much as you can for the first month, and use a stain treatment and mineral sequestering agent. I like Biodex Aquadex Stain Off and Biodex Protect All Supreme. Those should have been added while the pool was being filled but it's never too late. Again, sorry for the late response. You should have a minimum five year warranty on the plaster, but the sooner you address the issue the better it is for you. Good luck, Lucy

In what way is it like leather? Texture, mottled looking? Bottom line is that by using these products you are using less acid which equates to minimum damage to the plaster. L

I watched your other acid wash video before I did my pool last year but I was scared of getting burned by it and I wore rubber boots a rain suit, respirator, face shield and rubber gloves. The pool turned out realy nice but I noticed you don't use any safely equipment, be careful and thanks for your help.PS I could not find the Plaster Bright and White but It all worked out, Thanks

+Steve Branham I've heard other folks tell me to wear safety gear...very kind of people to be concerned. In the past I used to wear a mask but after almost falling in a pool because it blocked my view, I decided to learn to be safe without stuff. I'm glad your acid wash turned out well.
