No se siente como algo especial. Quizás sea que técnicamente es algo único porque por las sensaciones creo que hay mucha música muy superior del mismo Beethoven. En particular la Novena me parece increíblemente superior.

This is a string orchestra version of that revolutionary awesome piece which was the initial finale of the quartet 13 op. 130. The publisher convinced Beethoven to separate it from the quartet, to compose a new finales (one of his last works) and to publish it separately. The incredible strength of this fugue led some conductors to extend the string quartet to a full string orchestra. My modest opinion id that it tends to thicken it and that Beethoven's version for SQ id more convincing, but the strength of this rendering is out of question.

IMHO, this piece is a bit too big for a quartet. Perhaps B realized that he didn't have long to live, so he expressed his remaining ideas in his Late Quartets and Sonatas.

A fugue is a multi-voice musical form that hinges on counterpoint between voices. Composers can write fugues for a single instrument (most notably a piano or other keyboard instrument), or they can write them for several individual players. The Fugue is one of the most complexed form of musical composition. This fugue was one of Bethoven last works. .

This great masterpiece is much better with an ensemble of string players, rather than just a quartet. The depth and scope of the music demands more sonority among the instruments. I wish The Master had put this as the final movement of his Tenth Symphony.

I don't like the interpretation though the tempo in the meno mosso is good. The ritardando in the final is unnecessary. There are a lot of change in tempo and dynamism that are unnecessary.

I like to think that after a few hundred years or so, people are free to make interpretations of this song, such as having an orchestra, quartet, busker band, etc... Don't be super narrowminded people.

Yeah, it's very slow. Most performances I know take about 13-15 minutes which is a huge difference.

I can't help but find this work just plain weak and can't understand why some music lovers rate it so highly. The transcription doesn't make it any better. For me it remains a constructed, intentionally original thing that is not convincing.

This is a piece which requires deep listening skills in order to understand its emotional content. The piece is conveying something. It is conveying frustration, disorder, chaos, mental breakdown, and stress. Perhaps Beethoven was experiencing some of those issues when he wrote it. You just can't listen to a piece of music like this superficially and try to offer your opinion on it.
