@@darklordofsword Not certain, I'm not nearly as well versed in 40k lore as Luetin is. But to me, the nids seem designed for a specific purpose. They seem to be a weapon species just like the orcs are, and the fact that they can basically blanket out parts of the warp with their shadow and lack any and all qualities that chaos could potentially use to corrupt something, makes me think that they are made as an extreme anti-chaos weapon. After all, the only way to destroy the chaos gods seems to be to deprive them of the things that fuel thier existence, mortal souls and their emotions. The imperium uses exterminatus when there is no other way to deal with a threat. Who's to say that some other entity didn't have the exact same idea, just on a galaxy-wide scale?

I think my favorite bit of Nid lore is that one Inquisitor (I believe it was Cryptman) lured a whole Hivefleet into the path of a massive Ork Waaagh so the two sides could fight it out, which ended up saving a ton of planets but also has the extraordinarily frightening repercussion of a Nid Fleet getting unrestricted access to Ork Biomass and gene coding, or an Ork Waaagh (which gets stronger the more it fights) having just enjoyed the most intense fighting the 41st millennium has ever thought of. So the Imperium of Man bought precious time on Credit Card and the interest is catastrophic

This is similar to a theory of mine, there aren't enough orks to kill these quadrillions, quintillions, or whatever amount there are of tyranid ships, but what if you led an entire ork waargh to believe that they are just weak creatures, the waargh could use their physic warping abilities to kill the tyranid, but even then a few would survive. What if you locked the entire galaxy in an endless conflict of ork vs tyranid, both sides getting what they want and need to survive, war and biomass. You could then use a new galaxy as home, still keeping an eye on the endless conflict. Ultimately you would have an Era of piece not seen in tens of thousands of years, and that Era would probably last tens of thousands of years more. Sounds better than the entire galaxy getting wiped out in a few hundred, maybe thousand if you're lucky, years doesn't it?

@Deminogg3 жыл бұрын
@@taserrr from the Bible? You know a lot of other sci fi stuff took inspiration from 40K, right? The only reason no one tries to replicate 40k into movies or shows it’s because of how complex and long every aspect of 40k would take to explain. It would take years to fully explain how humans came to their first contact with the tyranids. The amount of money that would have to be spend on special effects and actors. And if they get something wrong, the 40k fans won’t be happy and review it poorly. Those who are new might not find themselves interested and dump the idea of trying to understand what’s going on. All of this would mean no profit for trying to recreate this universe. That’s why the only animations you see are from true fans who try to go by the book as closely as possible, and yet the 40k universe lore is still not finished nor is it perfect so it’s difficult to grasp. I have yet to see someone do something as simple as creating a story about super human soldiers fighting a swarm of alien form who all they care about is to consume organisms in the universe to expand and that’s it. For these aliens to evolve and look different every time. You technically call it ‘simple’ and yet I doubt you could come up with unique designs for just the tyranids only

Fantastic job, Luetin09. The way you read all of it, the music in the background, the sounds of combat, the entire presentation was just epic and masterfully done. You perfectly transported this mad and relentless confrontation and the heroic last stand of the Ultra Marines against the seemingly unstoppable tide of the Tyranids. Holy Emperor....I wish you would upload many, many more of those confrontations. Loved every second of it. Totally impressed. Youre a great story teller. When I was a kid and my best friend got me into WH40k the very first army I assembled was a Tyranid army. I LOVE these vicious horrifying bastards, and I remember so many 'friendly' battles against my friend and his Space Marines, usually Ultramarines or Blood Angels, those were the good old days. These days I haven't got any figures, or friends in person who play it so its just distant memories of ravaging campaigns of blood and chitin.

What it also shows is the incomprehensible scale of the Great Crusade vs what the Imperium is now. The 40k Imperium is very very weak. Do you think Behemoth would have represented much of a threat to 250, 000 Ultramarines if they'd come in 30k? :))

Two things, 1. Luetin I am a massive fan of your work. Brilliant. 2. I tend towards thinking each hive fleet is just the approaching tendrils of a far more massive mass because they have to have come from somewhere which means another galaxy. Considering that they consume all life available that means they come from a galaxy they have stripped bare. An entire galaxy of biomass. Even with propulsion requirements that could still leave an unthinkable amount. On top of that the Milky Way is only a smallish middle in size. Andromeda (nearest galactic neighbor) is about 200 times bigger. Thank you for coming to my TED talk :)
