The reason Luffy didn’t stretch up the mountain was because rubber gets less elastic when it’s cold, so Luffy literally couldn’t stretch being so cold. He was also being considerate to his crew mates that he was carrying as he didn’t want to jostle them too much.

I think for me, this is THE arc/couple of episodes solidified that luffy is really one of the best MCs out there... Tbh, i was actually shocked and mind blown of his undying friendship and loyalty for his friends... This is the moment i realized that he will do anything/everything to protect/save his friends/family/crew no matter what and no matter the circumstances and consequences would be...

And second SPOILER 1- his reasoning was perfectly logical in that moment, they had no idea what that place was, what was going on with those kids nor how they could safely bring them out. 2- the whole scene was clearly exaggerated to highlight Nami's soft spot for children, almost ooc for Sanji to be so against one of Nami's requests. 3- in the same arc he went back to save a bunch of male marines, let's not act as if he wouldn't care about saving kids

Luffy didn’t stretch because of what Sanji said to him. Sami told him to fight back or make big move meant and not to use his ability bc Nami could get hurt and make the situation worse. So Luffy decided to climb and not use his abilities to not harm Nami.

I feel like that Lapin flashback happens due to how the manga structures a bunch of things and how the anime's director decides to interpret them In the manga, it might've been that Luffy just "saw" the panel of that baby lapin again (or maybe not even that, maybe he just said "you are..." and that was that) A similar thing happens earlier in the arc, when whatever 2 characters are talking on the Merry and Sanji slips Down D Stairs as a background gag, since the foreground characters never react to it. In the anime, the two however happen in sequence.

Luffy climbing that mountain is when he became my goat, just that pure drive to do absolutely anything to save your friends no matter how much it hurts you, it's what solidifies him as a captain even when he doesn't seem like your typical pirate captain. Edit: also winter is the best season bar NONE bro, but that just might be the aussie in me talking cause here our seasons are summer, slightly cooler summer (autumn, or fall as you's probably call it) and 2nd summer (spring) and then winter is the only season that isn't a fight against the sun to survive.

Let's goooo I love drum island Yeah, Luffy couldn't slingshot his way up. Not only he had injured Sanji and sick Nami with him, the Drum structures are 5 km/3.1 miles. Just for comparison, everest is like 8.8 km/5.5 miles, but the Drums are practically vertical, we don't see Luffy gumgum rocket that far

One piece have the tendancy to be hard serious and oda deliberately made it funny so that the seriousness will take people by surprise. He wants the readers to feel joy reading the story and yet talked abt very serious stuff and mysteries which you guys will also starts to appreciate later on when the story starts to get deep, i guess as Alabasta is gonna be the first huge arc and in the grand line which will start building up the story and then it will go deeper and deeper. One piece is one of the best written stories out there so y'all won't be disappointed. I love it even more than AOT and luffy is my all time fav character, he is goated honestly and Sanji is 2nd, i find him one of the best written characters in OP.

In the beginning I was really annoyed by luffy, because of my preconceived notions of what a cool character is, for instance Zoro (cool, calm, colllected, atleast not a complete moron). Oda rewired my brain. Now luffy is the my favourite MC and favourite fictional character of all time. That climb was the first hint that I’d like him so much. He’s so goofy most of the time, but that 1% when he’s serious, works so well for his character. And it’s that much more effective when he has that serious face on.

I think that to a lot of people maybe Zoro is too obviously goated so they look for another character to put as their fave, lol (Luffy is mine, but Zoro is a very close second). Yeah, the rabbit flashback is pure filler, that's the sort of stuff that's put in to stall for time. Also, I might add, a lot of the moments that shifts Sanji's simping from funny to annoying later on.

Yeah, my love for Luffy grew so much in these episodes. His loyalty and care for his friends are what make him one of the best characters in the show. He's such an idiot, but he's an amazing MC and I honestly wasn't expecting to love him so much. I think it's hard not to love all the Straw Hats, but that might not be true for y'all. I hope eventually you'll at least like all of them, including Usopp, but we'll see. As for Carter's question about winter, I think I'm in the middle on it. I don't completely love it or hate it. Brig named off a lot of what I hate about it. 😂 But there's things I love as well, like sweater weather, hot chocolate, Christmas, and it's more socially acceptable to stay home where it's nice and warm. 😜 Oh and Happy Thanksgiving guys! 🦃

Zoro is amazing, he's at #3 for me currently and never drops below #6, but he's rarely #1 because a character just being badass/cool is not my favorite thing to see.
