I love seeing Kuma on the cover. I love the detail that Luffy loses both of his scars and has to put them back like stickers. And now it seems we have an actual escape plan because escaping with the Giant Warrior Pirates seems like the most solid one yet. And it’s so cool the attack names are super Norse sounding. It’s so interesting that everything seems to be coming back to an apology. The Joy Boy flashback may end up being the biggest anime betrayal of all time. I'm still rooting for Kaku to end the series working for Galley-La again. No, the best part of the baseball bat is the poison exploding balls exploding on CONTACT... yet when luffy hit them with his quickly crafted bat, he returned them to sender. Now, you may have noticed a small physics issue with a bat capable of rebounding something that explodes on contact. However, it works because Luffy thought it should work that way so they couldn't explode against the bat because bats hit balls out of the park. Toon logic overrule the physics, but as soon as the balls left Luffys field of influences, they went back to exploding on contact. It shows that the toon physics has a range, but it definitely overrides reality in that area. This was also shown when Kuffy reflected Kaidos' blast breath, but here it's even more explain because on the previous action Luffy PURPOSLY wanted to reflect. However, here he just wants to "hit them back" but even that is enough to override the nature of reality. The difference is he didn't want to reflect but hit back, so his reality altering powers are not about the letter of his request but the spirit of his request. That is, you can't fool the power. The sun guy thinks this will be funny, so it shall be. It truly is the most ridiculous power in the world.

I agree with this sentiment, except I believe the balls bounced, because anything luffy wants to turn to rubber in gear 5 turns to rubber, so the balls turned to rubber as they made contact with the bat but then returned to liquid form as they left the bat. Kinda the same way he grabbed lightning, turned it to rubber and once he threw it, it became lightning again. I dont think it is reality overriding, and even though it looks looney toons-ish, it's not a "toon" effect, it's just ultra pliable rubber, anything luffy touches, or makes contact with, and even his own body turns to ultra pliable rubber until he stops touching it. Though it appears he does have control over what becomes rubber and what doesn't. So far we haven't really seen him change an object on contact to anything that doesn't resemble rubber. Perhaps he will eventually have the power to literally change reality though.

Maybe he made the balls rubber for the moment he was interacting with them, but he clearly doesn't need to make everything rubber. So it's a distinction without a difference. Be those black balls became rubber or indestructible, the results are the same, and Luffy can do both as long as his willpower holds out, so it's pointless to nitpick. The point is his power goes beyond rubberized the world, but that does seem the default if he doesn't have a clear image of what he wants to do in his imagination.

But the more we see this reality distortion, I think even the cosmetic changes like the helmet here are vital to the process. He didn't create a baseball bat with Nika powers he created a baseball hitter doing home run derby. He created a scene, and in that scene, he hits balls back at the pitcher. The fact the balls are actually explosive poison pellets from a demon monster doesn't matter since while that's part of reality, it's not part of the "scene." And when the Nika powers are at full blast fuelled by Luffy's willpower, Luffy overrides reality with his own imagination. Even Kaido's haki couldn't stop this power like when Luffy's face deformed to match Kaido's club. My guess is that Nika reality distortion is powered by willpower and thus is powered by Haki and so if Luffy can match or beat your haki his reality distortion overpowers your reality.

Lucci is an awakened Zoan. A category known for their ridiculous toughness, endurance, and regenerative abilities. People have given Zoro a lot of smack for not finishing Lucci off right away. Lucci took more hits from a gear 5 Luffy than Kizaru did before being put in the ground. I also believe that it's difficult to go all out with advanced conquerors Haki when you don't hold any real animosity over your opponent. Zoro wasn't taking Lucci completely seriously like he would Kaido or King, and Luccis a damage sponge. That's basically how I see all of this.

Man I really liked Lucci in this episode. He kept his dignity, and his willpower and conviction staying up and potentially preparing to attack again while clearly half dead. At the same time, he showcased his usefulness by giving the full rundown of the situation to his superior even getting a "Splendid Work" remark from him. And last but not least, demonstrating how much his character has grown by requesting the Elder to save his comrade. And all that in defeat. Fantastic job. Props to Oda man, for always treating old rivals with respect and not sacrificing their place in the world just to showcase "how stronger the heroes have become".

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding zoro’s fight. Lucci got on the island to immediately capture luffy because he didn’t see or respect him as emperor of the sea. Zoro, arguably being the most honorable Member to luffy, wanted to prove lucci wrong by defeating him without even his full strength. Much like mihawk fighting zoro with his knife. He seems to be having the same philosophy as “not hunting rabbits with a canon”

9:25 I wanna make a counter-argument about Luffy being far above them strenght-wise. Luffy was the only one who looked to be affected by the haki blast saying "That was close", meanwhile Brogy and Dorry just tanked it by raising their shields. Also Brogy and Dorry is probably rested now and not tired after fighting for 100 years like they probably was when they first fought Luffy. Also, they easily both tanked the Boar Elders spin attack and in last chapter cut straight through the worm to rescue Luffy.

My prediction for Usopp in the next few chapters: Marcus gets to the straw hats next to the Sunny, Usopp shits himself, Usopp somehow ends up in the air riding on that big bird's back, he's crying so loud: "HELP M..." he sees Dorry and Brogy looking at him, so he stops mid-sentence and says: "...Help Zoro he's in danger." He continues crying in silence, Then Dorry and Brogy Save him with Hakoku Sovereignty and he pretends that he got it under control while shaking and still crying and the two giants are laughing being proud of him.

I wonder if the reason the Elder Stars are "elders" is because they needed at least 6 Ope Ope no mi users to make them all immortal, so it probably took a while to make happen. At least i think they are immortal because of that, it might be a different reason all together

I really liked the frame where after getting his various bits blown off by the haki roar, Luffy was cartoonishly sticking his scars back on like applying a couple of stickers. It's really subtle but really funny if you catch it.

It makes me wonder if during JoyBoy's time there were all these talks, connections, and plans being made to address the growing concern about the world government, but then some level of betrayal may have occurred causing a lot of these split factions to divert course and apologize for breaking promises. Like plans were made but something sudden occurred and caused a massive shift that ended up in a loss for our side.

Bruh Luffy saw Saturn shoot poison balls, reacted to it, grabbed a tree, speed eat/shape it to look like a bat, then he PAINTED IT, then positioned himself like a gotdamn batter, all before the attack came close.
