Hey everyone, we wanted to take a moment to clear up any confusion about our approach to watching the One Piece live-action series and the anime. We want to reassure you that we are absolutely continuing the anime after we finish season one of the live-action adaptation. We know some of you are concerned about potential spoilers, and we completely understand. We were made aware that there is a spoiler in the live-action-not what it is, just that it exists-which led us to make the decision to watch it now rather than risk accidentally finding out. Some of our friends and family have started watching the live-action since we began the anime, and while they would never spoil us intentionally, there's always a chance something could slip in conversation. Since they might not realize what counts as a spoiler from an anime perspective, we felt this was the best way to experience the story as freshly as possible. We know not everyone is a fan of the live-action, and that’s totally okay! At the end of the day, we’re all here because we love One Piece. So let’s keep the comments respectful-Luffy would never put down a fellow crewmate for having a different opinion. DON'T LISTEN TO PEOPLE GATEKEEPING YOU to finish 269 episodes (worth 89 hours) first before watching the live action because of ONE early reveal. It's NOT made for just the long time fans who've already watched the anime, it's for new fans too!! Watch the live action whenever and however you want! If you enjoy it then it is all that matters😊😊😊😊😊

It's not gatekeeping at all. That reveal means a lot though and the way the live action approaches it as someone who has seen/read the anime/manga pretty badly. The reveal is worth it in the source material, that's what Oda wanted and it works really well cause it comes with another reveal that is very important too.

@furynvm I understand that others are just warning them or advising the ladies and I don't mean them! But, some just hate the idea of reacting early to the live action.. . don't deny there really are some rude comments that say they don't want them to watch the live action until they finish 300-something episodes of the anime, and limiting or controlling access to a fandom (including the live action) IS gatekeeping. Read their pinned comment, they already explained the reason for watching the live action. If the ladies enjoy it then it's fine, no?

@furynvm Can you please give me a source or article where "that's what Oda wants" is mentioned? I am curious because all I've been hearing was they wanted to bring the series to a wider audience so I assumed it was for EVERYONE not just seasoned fans.

@@golden_zebra I never said Oda wanted the later reveal in the live action. I was saying Oda made the reveal later in the manga for a reason. It matters, the early reveal feels so flat in comparison.

Anything in this live action that is not seen early in the anime will be revealed later in the anime’s journey, some sooner than others. They are looking to compress timeframes of the anime, while still telling a solid story. I agree with the fact that the spoiler won’t ruin the journey. I watched this first and then checked out the anime to compare them and was still so hooked by the anime that I blew through all of them to be up to date. Fantastic Anime journey and I was just surprised that they waited so long in the anime to bring the specific so called spoiler into the show. I actually like how the live action did it versus the anime.

Fun Fact: Zoro's actor is the son of legendary Japanese star Sonny Chiba, and is himself an accomplished martial artist and action choreographer. Which is why his fight scenes are always great.

since there are some changes in the story in the live action they pushed forward some story reveals which you have yet to come accross in the anime so if you dont want any spoilers for the anime i recommend putting off the live action reaction till the end of the enies lobby arc in the anime

Awesome Reaction As Always Ladies. In response to a lot of comments saying some confusing and opinionated things, please just keep this in mind: A shocking reveal spoiler is not always something that would RUIN your experience with a story moving forward. These types of things require context to judge properly, and the truth is that you are safe to watch the first season of Live Action with extremely minimum spoilers to worry about. There will be one SHOCKING REVEAL that wont be as impactful in the anime for you when it ACTUALLY happens, however its not crucial or story defining information. Please enjoy yourselves, its unfortunate that they added in this information so early into the Live Action but at the end of the day its not a big loss realistically. Truthfully by the time you get to this reveal in the anime so much more will happen in this same moment that you will still be surprised and enjoy it regardless. *tips fedora*

14:42 You have actually. Remember the Marines that Koby joined after Luffy beat Captain Morgan? Those were good Marines, albeit being "cowards" who wouldn't stand up to Morgan. Also the Marines who tried to take down Arlong. Had they succeeded, Nami's village would have been freed.

Hello ladies, nice reaction as always A lot of comments mentioned a specific spoiler of a reveal anime watchers do not get before 300+ episodes. While its true, I have seen enough live action viewers becoming anime watchers and enjoy the experience specially past the east blue saga to think that this particular spoiler does not affect the experience as a whole. It just lessens the impact of that particular reveal in my opinion. P.S. 17:17 "Get inside flying"...with the help of a bird is an allusion to the way Luffy enters orange town (Buggy arc). There are a lot of Easter eggs like this one in the LA, let's see if you can find them 🙂

To everyone here saying in what order this or that should be watched. There is nothing wrong with which order some facts in the story are revealed. The LA adds new canon by showing us more interesting skirmishes such as what the crew was doing in the first marine base. I've been watching "Haylo & Kiss" and they were not really impacted. They saw the LA then are in the anime past 315 already. They are fine.

I guess live action didn't really need that because we continue to follow Koby; he doesn't disappear for a long time like in the anime. He's given other moments instead, like standing up to Garp so he does go through a character growth. It's just not right away.

I don’t think it’s a good idea since you started anime, it has spoilers 😅 It’s good to start LA when you are not interested in the anime, but you already are, it has really big spoiler that will be revealed in the anime in episode 313-314

@@evog35viii It's not just my opinion, we see the character 2 times, the 1st time it's a random sensei, knowing who he is doesn't change a thing and the 2nd time we see him 30 seconds before the revelation of who he is, it's not a major spoiler

@@xiablo3146 On its own, I sort of can get behind saying its not a major spoiler, but the way that the character re-contextualizes the story up to that point is something that I think at least lives in the same realm of reasons people want to keep things as surprises, IMO. So I think it's valid for people to think it's a significant impact to enjoyment of the story to have this revealed way earlier. It also robs the impact of Oda's storytelling trick where a character who appears briefly early on turns out to be much more significant to the plot way later.

@@gameguru8 For me the important part in the 310-320 ep (I don't remember exactly) is the revelation that come just after this one we have in the live action, because this revelation doesn't change anything because till the character isn't introduce in the main story it's not a useful information, end when he is introduce in the main story, it's 30sec before the revelation... The revelation aint better in the LA, but at least the character is introduced a bit just so we have some interrogations about him, you don't have any interrogation about him in the manga, the interrogations are the revelation that the character make just after and they didn't spoil it in the LA, that's why I'm just saying that they don't have to worry, it wont affect their experience to watch the LA before ep 320

Stop at ep 3 there is a huge spoiler in ep 4 if u don't care about spoilers then go for it but I don't recommend it because it comes in after 300 ep in anime

There are a number of things in the live action that are minor spoilers for where you are now, and one that, while not the biggest spoiler in the whole wide world, does affect how it feels when it's revealed in the anime. ----------------- I had to watch this with the idea that it was inspired by One Piece as opposed to actually aligning with One Piece. Made it a lot more enjoyable. Since they had eight episodes to work with, they've made some adjustments. Some are more challenging than others. I personally am not a fan of the LA Shanks. He doesn't quite fit. Buggy, on the other hand, is incredible.

Sorry, not sorry, but the LA is terrible. Spoils future reveals because fanfiction, characters are widely out of character, whole important events are cut or retconned, and everything just feels super cringe to watch. It is a very disrespectful and tasteless garbage fire. I hate this show, and the rubes who defend it. Terrible video.

@@drudrgreen1417 It wasn't perfect at all , but yeah it's still great and the best one so far ever made. It still made some questionable choices that don't have to do with airtime/runtimes, since they chose to replace some lore and events with other additional new inferior scenes. I think those were more of the artistic license and choice variety, which they have a right to anyway. Usopp especially, despite a great choice of actor, was the "loser" with those choices in the first season... something they themselves kinda acknowledged and aim to fix later.

I can't agree with you more. I hate live-action adaptations because they ruin most of the characters' settings, making them ridiculous. And those who say One Piece is the best anime adaptation are either newcomers to anime or fans who have never watched classics like Death Note. As a hardcore anime fan who also subscribes to multiple streaming platforms, I strongly discourage those already watching the anime from watching the live-action adaptation before reaching the corresponding episodes.
