I always liked how the developers made separate themes for the Sinistrals themselves apart from the regular bosses, and it's even more epic than the regular boss theme. It made it seem like the stakes were that much higher since you were fighting literal Gods.

Always loved tracks that have a rapidly hard-hitting melody such as part 0:25 in this one. Never played this game but knew of this banger track back in the MIDI days of the very late 90s and it’s still phenomenal

My son asked me who the best villains of gaming history are. I told him about Kefka, Sephiroth, I told him about all the Lucavi in Tactics. But I ended the list with all 4 Sinistrals. These guys need a remaster and this whole game needs the works. Amon was always my favorite, but Gades was FEARSOME. Especially if you push yourself in that first encounter. And I never lose against him first try.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized that Gades is basically the Greek god of war Ares. The Sinistral of Destruction loves fighting worthy opponents, laying waste to cities and slaughtering it's inhabitants. He thrives off of everything that has to do with fighting and war. He's the Lufia universe's God of War.

I agree! I run DnD campaigns as a DM and this is the song I go to (A more modern version/cover) when the overarching villain shows up. It's perfect!
