After years of backpacking and carrying my life on my back, when my wife and I decided to start hiking Caminos we took advantage of luggage transfers. You are correct - it is a game changer. Think of the totals pounds per step over 20km each day that you are saving on your body!

Five Caminos, incredible! I shipped my backpack ahead a couple of days to help my foot heal, and was grateful that that was an option. Also, great tip on the Correos for those who choose to ship the whole way. I didn't know you could book from start to finish all at once :)

You mention around the 1.07 mark that you just attach the tag, put your money in - do you mean cash and are you concerned that the cash will be taken by someone else ? I notice later on you used a pre-paid service, thanks for that very helpful information :)

Both! Some people just put cash in the envelope and seal it. If you’re on the Camino Frances your bag is with everyone else’s and I haven’t heard of this being an issue (stealing money). We do use a pre-pay service to save money because we know we’re shipping our bag all the way to Santiago.
