The washer you welded to the bottom of the spring purch might interfear with the u-bolt

It didn’t interfere but it’s a close fit!

Good video! I wish I would have removed the differential from my '80 Chevy K20 truck when I did my disc brake conversion. The only thing I saw wrong was that when you torque the wheel bearings the outer nut should be torqued to 100 ft. lbs. (according to my Chevy shop manual).

I would consider redoing those soft lines. Either run hard line, or use tabs that allow you to secure the soft line with zip ties. Those tabs you have might chaff through the soft lines.

I’ll see how they go while testing but you’re probably right. Now that it’s in the truck I can modify it if needed

Got a part # on those studs I just did my conversion and need a longer Stud.

I don’t have a part number but here’s a link to studs off the Lugnut4x4 website lugnut4x4.com/product/14-bolt-studs/

Got any tips for an air brake setup instead of hydraulic?

I noticed there is no parking brake now. Are you doing something else for a parking brake? Are there kits that do have parking brakes? I used to go on 4 wheel drive runs and one of the safety things you need is a parking brake. Many times I have had to use my parking brake working on my little ranch and while deer hunting in the hills. Also, your brake lines look like they will conflict with the u bolts that mount the axle. Years ago, I thought about doing a disc brake conversion. But nobody had any kit with a parking brake. Now, my 2004 GMC 2500hd Sierra 4x4 has rear discs with a parking brake. I was considering getting an axle from one of these trucks so I can have a parking brake.

Lugnut 4x4 has an option on their site for adding a parking brake caliper as part of the kit but for what I’ll be using the truck for I don’t think I’ll need one but I can always add it later if needed 😬

Shouldn't you pack the bearings with grease?
@2AOverland4 ай бұрын
They’re self lubricating from the diff fluid. At least all of the research I did told me that 😬

Do they make a kit for a 92 GMC Sierra14 bolt full floater?
@2AOverland10 ай бұрын
This kit should work for all 14 bolt full floaters

@@2AOverland awesome. Thanks for the heads up. It's a nice upgrade. And pretty good price. I like your square body build. Nice truck. 👍

Do the bleeders need to be pointed down ?
@victoroneill79242 ай бұрын
They need to be pointed where the air bubbles will be.

So you don’t need to pack those bearings?
@2AOverland9 ай бұрын
Nope!
@orinadolf19286 ай бұрын
Why don’t they need packed? From my understanding they’re not oil bath bearings, the manual I have says to pack them as well. I’m rebuilding the same axle same kit I was gonna stuff those things with grease
@moejr14 Жыл бұрын
What did you pay for your axles?
@2AOverland Жыл бұрын
I got the 14 bolt locally and the Dana 60 was from a wrecking yard in Missouri so I didn’t pay a whole lot compared to other pairs I’ve seen
