Is the fan designed to be either a push or full fan?
@2AOverland
@2AOverland Күн бұрын
It could be either. Just flip the wires to have it go either direction

@2AOverland Yeah, I noticed you mentioned that but are the blades designed to do that? Looking at putting one of these in both my XJ and 5.9L ZJ to prevent excessive heat offroad. But location is going to be dependent on if it can actually push or pull and not just have the polarity changed around. Know what I mean?

@Krawler69 I gotcha, and that’s a question I don’t have an answer to 😬 when I did the coolers on the squarebody I did have to flip the fan blades for better airflow but I would do some testing before installing with this one since I used a different model on the squarebody.

@2AOverland Gotch! Well, I appreciate it either way!. Awesome video, sold me on the modification when I was browsing what to do with mine. That 5.9L trans hates the heat. So have to figure something out with it. The AW4 isn't as bad but better safe than sorry with just putting a 4.7L in it.

I made a similar stiffener for my front rails about 10 years ago. I plated both sides of each rail with 1/8" plate. Then I had steel sleeves turned on a lathe that went through the rails to space the steering box out and also pass through the rail on the passenger side for the bumper mount. I had to drill out the existing spacers in the frame rail to make room for the sleeves to pass through the rail. I didn't remove near as much as you did. I pulled the front bumper, steering box and sway bar. I was able to do the work with everything else in there. No need to pull all of that off. I did most of my welding laying on the ground. Overhead welding sucks, but I'd rather deal with a few burns than take a bunch of stuff apart. I work in ship repair, so I am used to working in awkward/difficult to access spots. Not trying to bash your install, just offering others ideas on how to avoid the extra work. Your welds are decent enough, they'll get the job done.

Nice build brother! Back in 1984 I ordered a K30 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe w/454ci, SM465 trans, 4:10 gears, dual tanks, A/C, & a few other things it took right at 4 months to arrive. I lived in St. Augustine, FL at that time and it sunk everywhere I took it because it weighed so much so after warranty was over I installed 11” of lift an put on TSL 15”x42”x16.5” Super Swampers and didn’t have anymore troubles in the sand or mud but everywhere I went all people saw was a wrecker to pull them out can’t tell you how many times that happened. I moved to Kennesaw, GA and ended up selling it to a friend from High School who made me promise to give him first refusal so he bought it and took it back to West Virginia to run the mountains. I sure wish I still owned that truck but needed a down payment for a house. It worked just as well in the mountains of WV as it did Fl. Great job and I envy your build you’ve done a great job so far plus I just found your channel and subscribed. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Got my Lightranger 2000 but have to exchange it. White and yellow diodes on one side are flickering. Still waiting for new one to arrive. Hadn’t received any indication that my replacement was being shipped. Finally filled out a review that was sent to me from a Devos Outdoor. Gave the rating two stars with the reason that they need to work on their quality control and inspections before shipping. It’s typical that this review was never posted on their website. I even filled out a review on their website and it never got posted. I have seen other companies screen their reviews and only post favorable ones. This is not a good practice. Overall like the light and its ability especially the App control.

Good test, but why didn't you just check the calibration of the built-in gauge before doing the test? Then you wouldn't have to stop the test and use your stand-alone gauge.
@2AOverland
@2AOverland 19 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! When I was testing the compressor I seen the gauge was off by 5-10psi and was not accurate whatsoever. It seems like it’s very common for the built in gauges to suck on these compressors. But otherwise the compressor has been great

Going with the mechanical diesel due to free access to WMO diesel. I have 1 ton K30 Dana 60 front and a 14 bolt in my truck as well. Wire wheel on a grinder takes that undercoating off easy. I use the torch and scraper to get the seam sealer out, but find the wire wheel gets the undercoating off faster and easier than the torch. Either way, wear a respirator doing this kind of work. Nasty stuff. I'm jealous of your trunk pan. Mine is more rust than steel. Plan to cut out the hole back half of the jeep this winter to get the rust out. I'll look at using these stiffeners too. Haven't seen a set of inner stiffeners for the rear, just the outer ones.
