Huh, I see they changed the Chauncy fight a bit. Used to be he chucked an additional 2 horses at you at lower health. As for Boolosous, god does he bring back some bad memories. One of my all-time least-favorite bosses. Between the boos cheap-shotting me from off-camera and the delay on the ice attack (which only occurred during this fight), it was not a fun experience. So if i got left with only one boo I was pretty much screwed. Did anyone else have a problem with the ice attack on the gc version?

I already got a gold painting as well as the platinum one for him. What I did was hold down both the element and vacuum controls (which by default would use the vacuum) then when a boo got near released it causing the ice to come while leaving them little to no time to escape. the last boo was tricky but I eventually got him and got my platinum and before that gold painting of him both on this and the game cube version.

XxCordovaManxX Boolossus has always been my favorite. I love the challenge and if you practice, he should become muscle memory. Bogmire is a close second. I loathe Biff Atlas just because there's so much stuff in that room and you're likely to get stuck on stuff.

Does anyone have any idea why Bowser (fake or real) has strong inhalation BEFORE the vacuum mushroom (Bowletta and "Bowser" from the King Boo fight in LM) from BIS (+BJJ)? The only reason I can think of is related to his fire breath (because fire can create updrafts (think LoZ BoTW) and he can do that in reverse).

So what's the difference between Normal and Hidden Mansion difficulty?

Portrait Ghosts struggle more, drop more poison mushrooms and have 1.5x Health. Some Portrait ghosts have more specific changes: Chauncey will summon larger horses and bounce faster. Bogmire teleports faster and Shadow-Bogmires are faster Boolosus moves faster and Boos are more wary of ice. (Boos may be more aggressive too) Vincent Van Gore spawns 5 of each ghost instead of 3. King Boo charges faster and will throw a bomb that explodes early more frequently. Pillars in the Arena will also not produce hearts if he destroys them. Amiibo are also not permitted in the Portrait Battles.

I struggle so much on slim, biff, sir weston, and the fat ones. They always break out before i can get them down to 10 hp. But suprisingly boolossus only took a me a few tries to get platinum

I always have a tough time trying to catch Biff Atlas, Slim Bankshot, and the Toy Soldiers. Because every time I try to suck them up, they escape and made me fail to drain their hp. And that's not fair.

@@cordovaman335 The Clockwork Soldiers is my least favorite because 3 ghosts against Luigi, I always get hit by one of these guys. Most favorite ghosts, hmm well, I don't know, probably Spooky because he's a cute dog. I don't know because I'm pretty good in capturing the other ghosts in this game.

Question regarding the soldiers in area 4. I perfected one of them but no pearls came out! Do I still get gold frame? Or is it triggered only by the one that releases the pearls?? Thanks.

Portaleer You have to get the perfection on the blue one. That’s the only one that counts for what frame you get. So do him last so the other two won’t bother you.

Favorite ghost is King Boo. Awesome design, decent fight, cool portrait and great music. Least favorite ghost is Chauncy. Unfair fight (in hidden mansion mode) weird music, WTF scream animation, to much stress.

How to make the meter go down faster I have no idea. They say opposite direction but it doesnt work half the time :/

The game didn't explain it very well, but you actually have to pull in the opposite direction that the ghost is *facing*. For example, If Luigi's back is to the screen and the ghost is in front of him, not facing the back wall, but facing to the right, then you must move your joystick to the left. This way, as both Luigi and the ghost are facing the same direction, the HP goes down at a rapid pace. I hope this helps you..... 8 months later.

Thank you this. I need to study how to survive the 5 grabbing ghosts in Van Gore's fight. Also what are the requirements for platinum besides the 140HP? I could've sworn some required 95+ health

I think it's 141HP. And other requirement is no damage

Some ghosts are different like Chauncey and Bogmire because the line WILL break so be sure your health is 95+. Bookoseus is another exception. But for the rest 141 in one go is a must for platinum. Health wise I actually don’t think it has to be above 95. I’ve had cases where I got the granny ghost in one go and had 89 health and I got platinum. Aside from the three exceptions I mentioned as long as you drain over 141hp you got yourself a platinum. I’ve got all platinum portraits aside from van gore and that’s what I learned

I forgot king boo is the last exception. Each hit deals wayy over 5hp so for this ghost it has to be no damage to get platinum

I'm stuck at Biff. I just don't get it... most people seem to be able to get it by knocking him into the bottom left area. I guess that's the strategy? Seems like luck after that.
