[TAS] Luigi's Mansion 100% in

This is a tool-assisted 100% speedrun of Luigi's Mansion. 100% requirements include:
-All 50 Boos
-All Portrait Ghosts
-A Rank at the end of the game (minimum 100,000,000 G collected)
TAS timing starts from console power on and ends on final input (selecting 'No' to the save prompt after the final area clear cutscene).
RTA timing starts from file select and ends on the first visual frame King Boo fully enters the vacuum.

King boo: has 500 hp and can be 1 cycled Bootique: has 300 hp and can not be 1 cycled even with a tas

If the chest wasn't opened, it would have prompted an additional cutscene to play when re-entering the room after coming back from rooftop. Taking the time to collect the bills also would have been too slow for how much they're worth despite this.

I cannot believe you ended on 100,000,000 exactly, did you happen to be close and just rerouted part of it or was that the plan from the outset?

it was never going to end any other way :p the money route was like 95% finalized by the time work started on the movie itself. the exact number of pearl dupes I would be able to get was a little up in the air throughout the creation process but it ended up being way more than I anticipated, so I was able to cut out almost all of the slower money spots I thought I might need. A couple minor things I would change on a second pass but I'm quite happy with how it turned out!

Do you think catching the boo in the nursery while picking up the key could save time. Maybe it would ask you to save then you could reset skipping the egad cutscene and ghost portrait cutscene.

The game actually ends up bugging out I believe. It only works on mario items and keys that aren't from area bosses

it took me until bogmire to realize she did boolossus BEFORE she did bogmire. I assume it's an emulation error but why was the music bugged out during the boolossus cutscene? it'd my favorite part of the game. breaker boo was a joy to watch, as was the rest of the tas. incredible job TAYLOR

thank you ^^ I'm not 100% certain, but more than likely the boolossus audio bug is not an emulation error. This game pretty commonly has random audio issues, especially for RTA speedrunners for some reason. It's not too uncommon to get 'audio glitch' while doing runs, where the game audio cuts out either completely or with only a few sounds playing and everything else muted. So, idk for sure but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't an emulator issue lol

17:45 I know it says in the description that 100% is just all ghosts and the best ending, and getting every last bill and coin is a time drain, but seeing a whole emerald disappear and Luigi walking past a sapphire hurt a lot. The super clean destruction of Boolossus easily made up for it.

I just wanna say, I played this game when it came out as a kid, and after watching the second and third game, this game just...has a charm that the later editions could never match. From the ghost designs, to the quaint yet large feeling of the mansion, the progression, the stylized art...makes the other two feel so dead creativity wise. Sure they look "better" graphically, but it's like the soul of what made this game good was gone in the latter two and that somewhat bothers me. After this game, I never really kept up with nintendo, I think SSBM was my last nintendo game next to StarFox Adventures.
