I'm honestly fine with D rank being canon. That's still a pretty good house all things considered, and Luigi doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would want a grandiose house anways.

The ending piano at the last part of the H rank jingle CREEPED me out when I first heard it. I guess I wasn’t really expecting it, even though I was expecting the sad version of the normal jingle. It creeped me out so much that it made me start to think about it, and the fact that Luigi is technically homeless now because he didn’t give into greed even a little bit. He didn’t go out of his way to collect money or anything and the game bit him in the butt for it. Just another L for the poor little Mario bro to take. I know he likely wouldn’t mind it because his big brother is the world to him, but it’s sad that this would be his fate if he didn’t collect anything.

@@joo3414 that’s not the point. The point is that Luigi needs to take more W’s. Because as much as he cares for Mario, he always wants to prove that he can be just as great as him. Despite that though, many people in their world consider him just a second fiddle to Mario with one of the biggest factors to it being that he scares easily. Yes he saved Mario in this game, but he deserves quite a bit more of a reward just for the simple fact that he had to go through his own mental Hell with how scared he was throughout the entire game just to save him.

If you wanna give it another go, just go back after each boss fight and water the weird plant near the dog house. It'll give you a 20 million dollar gem eventually. There are only 1 in the game, the other comes when you catch all 50 boos

I guess the problem is, that you probably have played the PAL version. The PAL version has a bug, where you only can get the B rank at best.

You have to get 130 million gold in the PAL installment to get a rank A. Maybe you was playing the PAL version.
