@@matthewbob_moostachepants5563 I’ve also seen both of Beta64’s videos on this game, when I saw his first video of this game over a decade ago I was blown away by the amount of changes. Thanks! Luigi's Mansion was a game Nintendo showed a lot before release due to it being a launch title for the GameCube, so there was a lot of things that got changed!

Fun fact, the only time that Luigi does hold his flashlight with both hands in the final game is when he's on low health

Great video but I would turn your voice audio up a bit and the game audio down a bit. I actually got it two days ago. There’s a + version but it doesn’t add much. Just a Diamond, gold bar, and dollar counter from what I’ve experienced with it.

Thank you for the advice! The truth is I didn't expect this video to get this many views and it was a "test" of sorts with a new mic that I had issues with while recording. So it came down to either uploading a video with my quiet voice or nothing and I choose the former. But once again I very much appreciate your comment and feedback!

I sometimes imagine that the Luigi’s Mansion Beta Disc from Spceworld 2001 that Miyamoto held up on stage could still work with any GameCube consoles. Even though it probably wouldn’t but it would be cool if somehow that disc could be available with the whole Beta.

This is cool, I see they removed things that they thought would have made the game too hard like that purple ghost 👻 and the overheating mechanic. I would have liked the purple ghost to stay though.

Really makes me wonder how the plot progression was in this old version since it always seemed like there just wasn’t locks on any of the doors, could someone just walk to King Boo’s room and finish immediately?

How different the plot progression was early on is cool to think about. In this mod the door to the basement is locked so I'd imagine that's how it was in the beta build as well.

Interesting, I guess I also just wonder what the goal was, in the final game you’re following a set of paths for keys to more rooms, here there’s no path or guidance, you kind of just go in whatever direction you feel like, you can still light up the rooms, it almost makes me wonder if the progression was going to be more open or if reaching the basement had something to do with getting the lights on everywhere or if it would be some kind of puzzle to figure out how to get there.

@@Goat0423 I like all of your ideas! Luigi’s Mansion at its earliest prototype stages was a Nintendo 64 game so I wonder how many ideas on the plot progression still carried over to the final game. Luigi’s Mansion 2 changed things up in that department so I would imagine Nintendo certainly had multiple ideas while developing the first game.

It’s of course totally possible too that they just unlocked a bunch of doors for the show floor version and removed the linear progression just so people could get an idea of what’s in store, but who knows.

If you mean the Beta mod becoming a full game instead of the limited rooms it has then I’m not sure. I would assume no since the playable Beta built had limited rooms so the mod wants to recreate it as best as possible, which would mean it wouldn’t contain the full game.

Can this actually run on gamecube? Also i love the over heating mechanic. They probably removed it to be less hard or annoying.

Unfortunately, I don't know if this mod can run on an actual GameCube. I think it's more likely to run on a Wii/Wii U but even those I don't know for sure. The over heating mechanic definitely is unique but I'm personally glad they removed it in the final game. Also thanks for the comment!

@@AnthonyGarza_drums420 Thank you! Unfortunately, I’m not aware if this mod is possible to play on a Wii. Any mod of a GameCube game I play is only on PC, so I’m not familiar with modded GameCube games running on a modded Wii.

@@UltraNurturelol yeah I mean if you have a file of the modded .iso (don’t quote me on this but) you should be able to play it through usb launcher. Or alternatively there is a way to modify it while using the live game disk which is cool!

@@matthewbob_moostachepants5563 Having a file of a modded ISO and running it through the USB Launcher sounds right to me. I’m not sure since I’ve never played modded GameCube games on real hardware but I have modded Wii and Wii U games on an actual Wii U.

I’m still waiting for them to add the hose animation when you suck something up. Always felt weird in the final game having it be missing
