i will say, i'd maybe keep the voice effect (like how it was in the intro) when both lawful's and awful's are talking at once (ex: 6:30) for me at least, it's kinda disorienting hearing the exact same voice for two separate characters. when it's just one or the other talking, it's not really too important, especially given the visual cue of the background changing, but in situations like this it's just kinda awkward

I feel like one of the only people that genuinely loves the more streamlined designs of the ghosts in Dark Moon. Sure there could have been a bit more variety, but I still prefer the Greenies from Dark Moon over the Goobs from 3.

I agree. I think there was more variety in Dark Moon's ghosts than in 3. Plus I liked reading the bios for them. Going on a tangent for a bit, I also like DM's soundtrack. Hell, during a trip to Minnesota in December, I played the mines theme on my phone whenever I was outside in the snow with my family, I get a huge rush of nostalgia from the Pajama Sam vibes I get from the themes for Gloomy Manor and the Scarescraper, and I sometimes use the other themes for ambience during D&D sessions with my friends (now roommates) from college. The theme for the bunker and the victory music are iconic to me and I love that both make returns in 3. Also the quantity of the ghosts, I don't have much of a beef with. As a hack and slash fan, I like being able to take on hordes of enemies and feel like a badass doing it. The game is not perfect, and I will never claim it to be. As someone who's played Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, I find the missions structure to be a bit of a downer, and the ice monster can go eat a snowy dick. But I still enjoy Dark Moon despite the flaws, and it is one of the things that makes me hate that I don't have a working 3DS right now.

It is kind of unfortunate that 3 outshines Dark Moon in just about every way. I have a lot of fond memories with Dark Moon, but… it’s hard to deny that it’s pretty dated nowadays. If only it didn’t make quite so many fumbles, but at least those were used to make the next entry really great.

Dark moon is legitimately one of my favorite games on the 3DS, Right up there with the Kirby 3D duology, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and the Bravely games. All had significant presence in what I consider the better years of my life. My bro and I used to play the multiplayer a lot during car rides. I'm prepared to say it's my favorite of the Mansion series.

honestly, i disagree with your final verdict but i think this has to be my favorite episode of blessed or messed entirely yet ! this feels like your writing at its absolute best, there were so many jokes i just listened to again right after and the points you did have were still all really well-made and fun to listen to i know you worry a bit about getting videos out in a certain amount of time, but you really don't deserve to _(i mean deadlines aren't a thing people deserve either way but even beside that !)._ your videos are always a pleasure either way and i'm okay waiting as long as you need for gold like this - it's good to hold yourself to a standard, but like, your videos themselves are _already_ enough quality, you shouldn't have to worry about the quantity of it coming at once. keep doing what you do minion, because first-hand i think it's still going to make people happy as long as you keep being awesome 8>

One thing I find odd is how they don't keep Polterpup's pupils when Luigi's Mansion 3 came. It was shown that not being in the presence of the Dark Moon isn't the case because that mutt was in Luigi's Mansion, while I highly doubt is within the range of the Dark Moon.

I have a lot of nostalgia for Dark Moon, while weirdly enough, kind of forgetting about it completely. If I had a nickel for every Mario game I consider to be Fucking Weird in talking about it, I'd have 3 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened 3 times, and all in the 3DS/Wii U era.

I haven't played it in a while, but I remember liking Dark Moon a lot. I know a lot of people didn't like the fact that it was split into different missions, but I was fine with it, it definitely made sense for a handheld console. I think if they wanted to take that approach, they should've made the missions work more like Mario 64 where it's an open world and you can choose which mission you want to pursue within it rather than having to do the missions in order. Also, whenever I play games I feel compelled to interact with absolutely everything. In most games, that ends up being a waste of time, but Dark Moon rewarded me for that, so I feel like it kind of understands me a little lol

Fighting boos became even more annoying in this game than it did in the first game, the glow balls are annoying to grab and if you are not fast enough, they just disappear into another object And boolasuss was so fucking annoying since trying to aim those boos into the cages is more annoying than it needed to be

Dark Moon was the first Luigi’s Mansion game I beat because I couldn’t figure out what to do in the left hallway after beating Lydia in the beginning of the LM1. I have the most nostalgia of that game out of any of the Luigi’s Mansion games and I say it nails the atmosphere perfectly

First Luigi's Mansion game I played. It was literally the first game I could get my hands on because I never had a GameCube for the first game. I've poured hundreds to possibly thousands of hours into this game not only to casual gaming, but to speedrunning it also. Of course, when it comes to game capturing it for Twitch or KZbin, it can be hard to come by for a capture card. (Especially nowadays considering we're in a worldwide pendemic.) From a speedrunner's perspective, I'd still recommend playing this game even a decade later. Yeah, it certainly doesn't have the charm as the first game, but Dark Moon is truly unique to it's predecessor and successor. It tackles a handheld, mission mode perspective. Which 1 and 3 couldn't do. It's unlikely, but I would appreciate it if Nintendo ported Dark Moon to the Switch or even remastered it to give it the second chance it deserves.

This game was my first Luigi's mansion and like. I liked it, but I think it lacked something. I don't even know how, I just enjoyed the other two more. I think it helped that house exploration wasn't limited into levels for the other two, giving you a better feel for exploring the entire house/hotel in the other games. I did love the toad missions in this one, ngl **That ice hole can fucking die, mandatorily dying if you ran out of time??? Terrible**

Few things: I definitely remember the title theme and the Time Attack themes. I personally like the bosses in this game more than Luigi’s Mansion 1. My favorite being Knightmare Lawful was right about the mansions being great. My personal favorite is the final one: Treacherous Mansion.

Not to start a flame war, but I kinda liked DM as much as 3 if not slightly better. Maybe it's nostalgia for it being my intro to the series, but I feel like for all it has 3 somehow feels somehow both padded and short. Don't get me wrong it's a great game and when it goes all in with a theme the floors are short fun experiences, but I also can say without any sarcasm that a solid chunk of the floors consist of a hallway with enemy gauntlets and a themed boss. Also I didn't like what 3 did to ScareScraper

I enjoyed the Reference to ChuggaConroy, it was a clever way to reference him, I do enjoy LM2 for the Multiple Mansions it has and the new and improved upgrades to the Poltergust, but I feel like they could have made Luigi's Mansion better if they kept the portrait ghost for fights and maybe even added in new Portrait ghost for each mansion, while making sure the Mansion were around the same size as the first one in the original game they could still have different levels but not as many since they would be bigger mansions and you could still have the Boo's but give them back their original names and make some easier to find while others would need the Gameboy Horror from the first game, which would also let you find secret rooms filled with even more ghosts, And maybe some of the secret rooms or other rooms could have references to the other Mario games, and spin offs like Mario Kart and Mario party or the first Luigi's Mansion.

The one part I found was better in dark moon was the scarecraper. When I got to try the one in luigis mansion 3, I felt it was kinda nerfed in a way, but might biased with hiw much time i passed playing that side mode with local friends.
