Yes, a warning light could be set to pop if goes bellow a certain value, we did after we lost the oil belt, lol. But kill ignition is a bad idea. Those cars rely on the load go go somewhere, if you kill ignition on a situation where you need that load you can induce a bad crash. So yes, my bad, didnt setup a warning, but not, it would not have killes the engine. It runs straight 70w oil, no damage occur on that oil press loss during burnout.

As a software engineer (who also worked with FT Manager in its early days) and also have a race car, but for time attacks, the current state of FT700PLUS is something out of this world! Congratulations to the embedded software and hardware teams at FT. Looking further to have mine installed. PS: The lack of oil pressure red light was scary yet funny to see, since I imagine the anxiety to have the new hardware deployed, and sometimes we forget about the basics.

For the people wondering we don't use safeties at higher levels of racing because it can cost you an important race or qualifying pass... It's hard to remember to switch them on and off between testing and racing so a lot of guys don't use them at all... Also this is completely brand new set up there's a chance even if he wanted to run it he just forgot to turn it on but that is why you don't see safeties on a lot of these cars stop catastrophic failures not to mention things are happening so fast it takes less than a tenth of a second to burn a hole in a piston

Why the fukk doesnt the motor automatically cut off at 0 psi? They think theyre doing such a good job, but thats BAD. Also why are they still running belts? This is 2025, they need CHAINS ⛓️ for the mech. fuel pump, oil pump, and mech water pump (if not running brushless-water pump). I truly feel like this guy only thinks about himself and his product, not the mechanics of the engine.. nor give a damm about the cost of this racing program (since hes just the driver). @Smokey720134 күн бұрын
Because without boost and all that additional fuel for boost the motor just snuffs out. As far as when he broke the oil pump belt it wasn't under load and he had pressure through most all the burnout. Engines can survive even ones like this. can live for a short time at idle. It sure don't take long before you get bearings to touch down pretty much all babit style bearings will touch down real quick after losing pressure. No more hydro wedge to separate the part
