HUMILITY is the solid foundation of all virtues; thus, Chelsea is GREATLY REWARDED. Belonging to TOP 30 is a GREAT ACHIEVEMENT amongst all the contenders. somehow, but the MUO had already explained how this Continental thing came about. As per them, the 4 Continental Queens are the highest scorers during the prelims, interviews I guess, photo/video shoots, camaraderie with their co-candidates, GMRC. The MUOrg and staff were the ones who chose the 4, and the judges during finals, they chose the TOP 12. Fair enough!

Chelsea's prelims evening gown was basic and boring. Loved her national costume but both swimsuit rounds I didn't think were good for her. Philippines usually gives us top contenders but I was underwhelmed by Chelsea.

I am from Laos and I think Chelsea is very beautiful! She has more of a natural beauty to me. I did not like her blue evening gown. The gown looked boring and the color did not make her stand out. She looks good in yellow/gold. It may be the bad lighting in MU stage that didn’t make her stand out 🤷🏻‍♀️ She was so stunning and stood out alot during MUPH .. just didn’t in MU in Mexico. Agreed. Even most of pageant vlogger don't see Chelsea coming as winner during MUP 2024. She was Dark Horse in National pageant. When she won MUP2024 most of vlogger gave 101% praise on her performance. They're not overlooked..they just overrated to thier favourite contestants 😂😂😂😂😂.

100% agree. We were there too and my only expectation for Chelsea was for her to represent herself and her journey as MUPH authentically. She was already a winner with that... and she delivered. (Okay, I did want her to make Top 12 :) but I've been a fan long enough to know you don't always make it even with your best.) MU Asia was a surprise and Chelsea and MUPH seem happy and proud with the honor. What more can we ask for? We ran into Voltaire Tayag and her Mom leaving finals and her Mom was SO SWEET and GRATEFUL for our support. I knew then that the best really was yet to come for Chelsea! #NanaloSaMexico

Chelsea is a beautiful woman - both in and out. Yes, just the top 30, but we are proud of her. Prelims, swimsuit round great. Not an issue for me. Gown? Yes, i was taken aback. It was a shock for me. The gown was sedate. Not what we were expecting. If it were to be a ballgown, i would have preferred her Tiana gown. But yeah, there was that issue of all ladies coming out to the stage in groups. So, to catch attention, i see the logic of going out in that cerulean ballgown. There is no mistake, put Chelsea in a gown, she will wear it and look amazing. She looked amazing and her twirls were great and not distracting (unlike Olivia Culpo who just would not stop swaying it made me dizzy and irritated). A different color? Yes, i see your argument and yeah, perhaps a different color would have been better but i am satisfied with her preliminary performance, albeit i was initially taken aback by the gown but further on, yeah, it was an acceptable risk. She did stand out with that design. Now let us go the the night itself. Swimsuit? I believe she should have progressed. Honestly. But seeing so many of the ladies perform, i was not so sure if she would make it. I would have swapped Russia and Philippines. Now for the MU Asia sash, i am perplexed. Why Philippines? Yeah, OK, great, and thank you. But shouldn't it go to Thailand? Nigeria, first runner-up, got it for Africa. So why not Thailand? We keep on saying play fair. Yes, i may suspect some politics in Chelsea not making it to the top 12 and that is a bummer but with the final placements, it would be logical to have Thailand as a runner up and MU Asia as well. Now if the rule would be one not in the top five, then OK, i can agree with Chelsea being MU Asia. With this, then why have Nigeria then as MU Africa? Consternation! We a just scratching our heads with all these confusing results. We love Chelsea! She is an amazing woman. She represented the Philippines very very well. I believe she should have made it to the top 12. However, with the final results, though i am happy MU Asia is Chelsea, and i have no doubt she will be a great ambassador, as my heart hurts for Chelsea being in the top 30 and not in the top 12, i am also hurting that Thailand was bypassed. Just what are the rules?

Louis , to be honest chelse didtn give 200 percent . If she was not from the powerhouse country , you would not have even thought of discusising separately as one youtube episode . No to ball gowns during preliminary or finals. This is not the fifties and sixties. She stood out as a princess but not a queen. Nothing against the gown. That was the risk she took not considering proven history with ball gowns. She should have not changed anything from MUP victory when she appeared as a queen with the Mae West walk. Pia and Catriona only wore ball gowns at the victory celebration. I will not apologize for my comment.

Chelsea definitely dimmed. her fierceness and ferociousness was not there during prelim and finals, compare her performance in MUPH vs MU is severely different. This is because of the MUPH org. Lets not beat around the bush because it was prevalent even amongst our previous delegates that their MUPH performance was wayyyy better in MU. Their shine and glow DIMMED.

Some people can't see beyond the pageant's true goal, given Chelsea's background is a huge accomplishment already, I mean you can't win it all, when I was watching the pageant, I was fairly disappointed when she didn't make it to the top 12 but then I realized it doesn't matter at this point because she represented not only Philippines but the rest of people out there who thinks being different is an obstacle but she proved everyone wrong. To me Chelsea will always be the winner, that is enough for me. I am very proud of her for representing so many different people. Mabuhay :)

The blue prelims gown reminds me of a story that Pia told about how she had to work up the courage to go specifically request to wear her winning blue gown. I wonder if Chelsea knew about that story when this gown was picked. I LOVE the skirt and the way it flows. Honestly, I don’t love the midsection though.😬I wish that part would have been different just from a fashion perspective. One thing I love about post Miss Universe competition this year is seeing all the girls being welcomed home WITH their crowns on. They are all queens. We all know there can only be one Miss Universe every year but we shouldn’t take for granted everything they have all already accomplished and the great work they are doing in their countries and like you said the examples they are setting for young girls and future queens.☺️

In my opinion, Miss Philippines should start wearing only one gown for prelims & finals. In her case, the final look is way better than prelims. Also, the judges first impression happens during the prelims so you can no longer swayed the judges during finals as they made their opinion on the contestants. I don’t get why they have to spend money on two gowns, but instead use the resources to create a fabulous gown. We’ve seen this happen many times with Miss Philippines. Also, stick to the signature look. Looking back, past & present MUPH queens had mediocre performance and gown presentation during prelims. They should acknowledge the time to peak is the prelims period.

She's uninspired. I thought she's very hungry for the crown after watching her on live chat when she said there's nothing to worry about because it's up to her to the work. Unfortunately she didn't deliver enough to be a contender for the crown.

My feeling on this prelim gown when I saw it was… Princess vibes, rather than empowered queen vibes. It gave innocence and whimsy rather than the usual powerful elegance that to me a MU has! But love her regardless! As you say, it’s how she wanted to present herself and I hope she is happy with the decision 👏🏻

Her team really should have guided her better with this princess vibe. There is a time and place for it, but sadly not Miss Universe preliminaries in the 2024 batch in a Latin American host country of all places. The ball gown should have been saved for the hotel lobby lol.

Chelsea Manalo’s preliminary swimsuit walk - copied Ahtisa Manalo’s styles Her prelim gown - Luis gave the same comment as Adam (colour choice, design choice, etc). How come when MMD was competing at MU 2023, there was no Filipino judge? When Bea and Chelsea were competing at MU, Filipino Judge was invited? The national director of MUPh was also Chelsea’s former coach? As an outsider, I do see conflicts. ❤ What would happen when there was no Filipino Judge in MU, when there was no former coach in MUPh? The new crown of MU - was also designed by Filipinos. I wondered what would happen when no Filipino Judge was invited, will Chelsea manage it to the top 30? Will Chelsea chosen to be the Miss Universe Asia? (she did not win any award for her project - Voice For Change). 1) Miss Universe Cambodia won the gold award for the Voice For Change project and also top 30, 2) Miss Universe Thailand won the top 5 and silver award for the Voice For Change project, Both of them perform better than Chelsea (ranking and awards, also the height, Note that MU chose tall girls to be the MU 2023 and MU 2024)- don’t you think Chelsea got the help from the “insiders” already? It is all about business.

I hate it when pageant bloggers talk about the Philippines just for views, cos they honestly don’t mean anything that they say. Like every Filipina they are overhyped and they are usually placed cos pageantry in PH is a national sport so it creates views for the sponsors as well. The only reason Denmark won cos to keep the European interest or they trying to grow it but all honesty if the owners had their way they’d only be crowning Latinas and Asian women.

Agree specially opal ! I didn't put her at my top 12 list but I think she did a great job for her interview that was clear during her Q and A round she gave the best answers although her performance was not the best and wasn't as strong as she was during her national competition

I love how relatable Chelsea is. If there was a tierlist of my subjective, most beautiful MUPH winners from Binibini up to this day, I'd say She, Celeste, and Gazini are up there as top 3. Her bare face is just so gorgeous and she's so down to earth and warm that she radiates this inviting aura around her.

Luis you are right. When I saw the gown, I thought about Pia wearing a ballgown with lots of blings. They should have given it a little more bling and color should have been a royal blue. She should have twirled or given some movement to the gown, like disney princesses finally realizing they are the superstar of the show and giving the villains the final slap of shame. Lol. Unfortunately, competition is done but still proud of Chelsea for her achievements.

That's why like i previously stated that it's not really good to give our candidate the full decision about their gowns. I think it's better that org and candidates will make that decision. Totally Agree, if her sash said 'British Virgin Islands' or 'St Lucia', she would be a Clapper. Totally blah (but gigantic) dress. Her final gown is far more dramatic! Her demure demeanor also didn't match the spirit & energy of the Latin contestants.

I think it's the same reason why tati didn't make it top 5 or win. Tati was timid and demure to be miss universe. I think that's the reason why they became close they've the same attitude and demeanor.

I think Chelsea's preliminary "ball" gown is perfect even her swimsuit performance. Her gow might not be the most favorite and quite received a lot of negative critics but her overall performance including during the closed door interview landed her the top 1 performer in Asia that won her the coveted title as the 1st MU Asia 2024.
