I thoroughly enjoyed your comments on this video. Not all waves of humanity have such a one as Dimash to experience personally within the same time frame here on earth. He inspires personal reconnection with a greater depth our own Souls. He has healing frequencies in his voice. A woman who does Sound Therapy stated that recently a woman hearing Dimash's voice experienced a complete healing of her Cancer. I myself do not doubt this. I have heard of these things before. I know how sound effects our energy fields and why it can move human beings so powerfully as music. Have a wonderful day! 🌞 🎶 🕊❤️🕊 🎶🌞 ✌️🙏✌️

Although his vocal range is amazing, he is clearly very gifted, and he must have put a tremendous amount of time and work into mastering the control of that voice. For me it is his ability to communicate the emotion and feeling of the piece he is performing. He is usually not singing in a language I understand, and yet he communicates the feelings and emotions of the song perfectly. Every song he performs takes the listener on a journey almost like into other worldly dimensions of sound and feeling. A remarkable artist.

It is a traditional Kazakh song, written over a hundred years ago, from the perspective of a young Kazakh man who has been called to war by Russia, and the instruments are supposed to reflect the sounds of nature as he marches away from his home, devastated that he has to leave his elderly parents :(

Hello. From Brazil. In my opinion, this video has the best presentation of this song. He's singing in the Kazakh language. It happened at the live of the Tokyo Jazz Festival, an annual global event that takes place in Japan, and this year because of the pandemic it was done only through the internet. It was attended by musicians from several countries and for a happy coinscidence it was just on the day of Dimash's birthday. May 24 when he turned 26. Dimash with a powerful and emotional interpretation, sitting in a Yoga position, combined with the sound of the instruments, a spectacular presentation Samaltau is a traditional song that talks about the First World War in 1916 when a decree from the Russian Empire was issued on the mobilization of the army for rear operations. There was a lot of suffering and pain. So the beginning has the sounds of the instruments simulating the sounds of war. The song is about a kazakh son who mourns to leave his old parents alone, because he is forced to join the russian army for war. Samaltau is the name of the place the man is. Thanks for your reaction

Lucas, I found a translation of the song. There is a very similar medieval instrument in the Balkans, the fiddle. Thanks for the interesting reaction, Dimash is a miracle, although my soul remained trapped by Angelina Jordan. Greetings from Belgrade Here's translate: Mountain breeze Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier, You keep coming into my mind from time to time, My amazing homeland, where I was born and raised I wasn't riding, I was walking, Even slower than walking, Been strolling for 15 days In the direction of Omsk I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow By the will of Fate, I went farther away Mountain breeze, my amazing country, you're left behind From the hollow field, we are the only ones I had parents, Of progressed age, Since this song was written, It's been 16 years. Mountain breeze, my amazing country, my endless lake, What days await me as a soldier

[English translation] Samal Tau (Wind Mountains) Samal tau, my native land, the immense sea What days await me in soldiers Remember again and again Native land where I was born and raised I'm not riding, I walk Even slower than walking For fifteen days of trekking Approaching towards Omsk I am at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow By the will of fate went to a distant land Samal tau, native lands left behind We are like a herd of horses, torn from our native lands My mother and father They are old men of advanced years ... This song came from misfortunes of sixteenth years Samal tau, my native land, the immense sea What days await me in soldiers... In 1916, the song "Samal Tau" was born. Like the song “Elim-ay”, which the Kazakh people composed during the years of the great disaster “Ataban shybyryndy”, the song “Samal tau” expressed the aspirations and difficult situation of the Kazakhs in the last years of the Russian Empire. In the center of the work is the tragedy of an individual against the backdrop of a general national disaster. The mournful bitter song of the Kazakh soldier, who does not understand why he leaves his native lands, he tells the story of it.

I believe he's singing in Kazakh, the Turkish-based native language of Kazakhstan. (My wife is Kazakh, and I lived there 9 years.) I love this song. It is an experience as much as music. The back story, however, is important in interpreting that experience. This song is based on the writings of a young Kazakh who lived with his parents and family in the mountainous area of Kazakhstan when he was forced into the Tsar's army to fight in WWI. He had never been out of his own little part of Kazakhstan. The sounds of those ancient instruments represented the sounds of nature that he loved so much -- the wind, the howling wolves, etc. He's being forced to go fight in a war he does not understand for a Tsar to which he feels no allegiance. He misses his homeland and family as he marches to war, and he's wondering if he will survive the battles and be able to return to the homeland he loves so much. With that understanding, the song is much more meaningful and experiential for Dimash, as well as his fans. If it were in English, it might make the Top 10. You hear the mountain sounds and the cadence of marching, and you hear the mourning cry of a soldier who just wants to go home.

I don't remember all of the music that you have reacted to, but listening to two of his songs in Chinese might be interesting. You should watch the 3-4 minute backstory to the Gloria Wu version of the songs, which include English subtitles. Very moving pieces. Daybreak (kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4mqd2qsnKqMgc0) about an orphan whose parents pushed him to safety before dying in a cable car accident, and Autumn Strong (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk) about a China-born Japanese actress who was beloved by the people as she kept her ethnicity secret but was then deported when it was discovered after WWII. The lyrics are like they refer to lost love, but it refers to her love for the land, the culture and the people of China.

Just imagine snow-capped mountains peaks, beautiful blue lakes, the cry of the red deer, the distant howls of the gray wolf and the gazelle bounding away from the brown bear. The dombra is the most popular and the oldest Kazakh musical instrument. It sets the tone for where-ever the song takes place; as on the seashore, the desert plains or in the forest. It sounds hauntingly beautiful in this intimate setting, as DIMASH meditates before he sings. 💫❤💫

At the beginning of the song, the sounds of the Great Steppe of Kazakhstan at night were masterfully imitated on the Kazakh ancient folk instrument KOBYZ. We hear howl wolves, barking dogs, the cries of cranes, the noise of water in the river... /// The song "Samal Tau" is considered folk. Its plot is connected with the events of 1916. That year, many men were mobilized for World War I, which was in Europe. /// The guy walks along the steppe road at night and sings a song about having left his native home and old parents, native mountains "Samal Tau". The guy doesn't know what lies ahead in the war. He doesn't know if he'll return from the war to his home. /// Dimash sings this song in Kazakh. FYI. The lyric "I'm at the age of two cycles, the year of the cow." sets the time setting of the song and that of the young man who is singing. @@leannsmarie Oh, leannsmarie, This is so nice, such a gift for all of us, Dears, to open and enjoy the entire context of that magnificent song. I listened to it for the first time 5 hours ago and I am still under it spell. It haunts my spirit heaviliy like if the young soldier were my young brother leaving us, forever maybe. It is so real for me, as if it was a nightmare in which I cannot escape. Music is the best therapy there is for psychosomatic disorders, but, it could be a knife with a double edge. If the sound vibrational frequency is the exact opposite of our own frequency, could it be harmful? I know that I cannot sleep listening to a certain piece of music or it can make me nervous or anxious. With others, I sleep like a baby or I spend my day feeling happy, healthy, strong, in a meditate state of mind. It is all a question of corresponding sound vibrational frequency, as shown by the extraoprdinary beautiful mind of Nikola Tesla.

Believe me or not, but, having in view the whole amazing repertoire of Dimash, that is, in my opinion, the most poignant piece of musical vocal art that I have ever heard from him, including Daybreak (which is difficult to surpass in dark emotion) and Autumn Strong. it is almost unbearable, with the living natural and animal sounds in the intro and the desperate crushing feeelings of the young soldier called to arms leaving his country for the inevitable killings of unknown fellow human beings. That Dimash's low sound soulful vibrational frequency will haunt my spirit for how long, Lord, for how long, my Lord?

The young soldier was supposed to be walking during 15 days. End he knows he is not going to see his home and family again. It took your hearts and souls. At the end he is supposed to be walking to slowly, probably to the end or death. Beautiful. Beautiful Dimash. So emotive. No one like him. Awesome. Unique. Please vote REQUEST DIMASH this Friday on MTV. Thanks a lot. Great reaction¡ From México.

Мелодичные казахские напевы.. Большинство казахов певчих, и голоса сильные... Димашу помогает окрас акцента национального языка обрамлять песню изяществом.🤗♥️

Hey Lukas, I always enjoy your reactions. Let me tell you about song/music The Intro is made to put you (audience) into the scene. The song is about a Kazak soldier who where called by the Russian Millitary to join the army. It‘s during WWI. He has a 15 day trip to his destiny. And while walking he sings this song. The instruments imitates the scenery/nature/animals. The 2-String instrument is called Qobyz. This eg Imitates a Wolf at the beginning. The flute an eagle. And then there is Wind, water etc. at the end of his Melisme, his last note has a delay. That symbolizes the echo in The Valley he is walking through. Sorry for my bad English. I tried my best. 😂

Hi Lukas! I'm a film writer and director too, small indie films. It's super cool to have you here on this platform. I thought for a long time, what a great way to discover music for projects, find inspiration and those who wish to collaborate. Great reactions and I hope you also discover others like Hua Chenyu (China). He is stunning as well. Dimash and Hua Hua are my two favs by far and I find inspiration watching and listening to them. Currently working on developing another Native American based feature and tele series, as it's near and dear to my heart after growing up as the white looking kid on a reservation. Peace!

@@lukashasselNY yes. AND, I worked at Sundance FF and the institute in 2014. The fests have been smaller, more Native based.
