@@SisterShirley I agree BTW my son is gay but heterosexuals don't have a parade/party for being straight it's one thing being proud of who you are it's another to throw a party for it but on flip side if society were more excepting people wouldn't feel a need to parade/party for being who they are... Be proud people of your self and be happy in your own skin

Your reaction was excellent to be honest, “normalizing” the fact that she was attracted to women and not making such a big deal out of it seems like what everyone should do. People shouldn’t even need to “come out”. But for that to happen people need to stop assuming everyone’s straight first. It’s not their fault for doing so, it’s how most people are brought up, thankfully things are starting to change, at least at some extent in my generation. Kudos for you being a great mom.

Lovely family! When my oldest child came out to me as bi 14 years ago, I did not show them the support like Luke's awesome parents did. Being raised a strict Catholic, I was taught that being anything but straight was a sin and I was worried about this for them. I cried for a week straight. Thank God I know better now that God loved us all just the way we are and no matter who we love. My child has also since told me that they are genderfluid and asexual. I handled this news with a big hug and lots of support.

This family hands down is the best in the world! I never saw a family understand each other the way that they do. People will have two to three kids and they can't even understand that many kids at all. Sue and Noel, of course have 22 kids and understand each and every single one of them. To the point where she knew that he was this for so long and it felt so good. Once they sat down with him and she was like we accept you and so did Noel. It just shows that they were meant to be parents. And meant to have these many kids. I mean it's not that I'm saying okay. You can't be a parent but some people are not fit to be. They really love what they created and it's just very beautiful. Can I see the love they have for each other as well that really ties into the kids because you know you have to have a good solid foundation for each other as a couple to raise your family together and they do have that dynamic and again that is where that beautifulness comes out. But also yeah their kids are well rounded and have great heads over their shoulders because of that dynamic of them.

I know this was a while ago but I've just watched it and apart from loving the way your family dealt with it, I wanted to scroll through the comments. There was a couple of idiots just wanting to cause issues but I was so happy to see that most comments were so supportive and accepting. We are getting there slowly and it starts with young children being taught that its 'normal', no one is born prejudiced, it's a learned behaviour. My son was 12 when he came out as gay and I'm thankful that he only had a few mild pushing/shoving issues at school before the school clamped down on it. His family and friends were all perfectly fine (most, like his dad and I, already knew) and he was fortunate to go through school life, college and Uni with no backlash. Unfortunately, it's not always like that and some people still struggle so much which is why Pride is so important. It not only gives people a chance to be exactly who they want to be, it gives thousands more a 'talking point'. The more we talk openly, the more we can silence the ignorant ones. Much love to the Radford's and to all those who took the time to make Luke realise that not everyone will judge him, the couple of idiots got shouted down in the comments too so bonus!. xx

Well done Noel! I didn't know you had a health scare. You are pretty amazing. You are up early, put in a hard day's work and do your fair share of parenting and you never seem to lose your cool. That alone is a healthy thing. Congratulations on finishing, and beating the time you set.x

Luke is a very lovely, sensible and smart person. So important for a lot of young people who have the same struggles that he chose to come out publicly. It will for sure take a burden off many young people´s shoulders and make their path easier. The reaction from Noel and Sue is exactly how it should be. Love and acceptance.

This large family is so refreshing. What a lovely family. Luke, thank you for sharing your story. Sue and Noel are wonderful parents who really enjoy their children as unique individuals, that is the true gift and blessing of children. Not trying to mold them into “ stepford “ children. That just creates conflict and families who are estranged from one another.

Luke, it makes me so sad to hear you speak about how you struggled. Well done for overcoming that fear. You always come across as a kind and gentle young man who loves his family so much. I wish a lifetime of love and happiness ❤️ Sue and Noel well done for being the parents you are. Those hugs were very special. I hope parents who are not so kind or understanding will be able to open their hearts to the unconditional love I see all the time in your family, and that their hearts will soften. And I pray that other young men and women will find strength in Luke’s courage and finally be able to be who they really are. ❤️

Kudos to such a loving home. With 22 kids statistically 10% or more (or 2.2 kids) could easily be gay. I’ve known many bisexuals but most of those (all but one) ended up being gay, kinda using bisexual to test the waters. Best to you all

Sure wish I could’ve had this background at a younger age, I didn’t understand the whole issue until I was 60 years old. I have much love for all my friends now in many better ways, and feel badly that I never “got it”, my grandfather was gay and lived a tormented life back in the day, it makes me so sad but we can only move forward now 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜

My nephew is gay and eventually entrusted me and my children with that, because he knows how open we are, however the rest of the family don't know. My parents are very elderly and my other sister and her family are very stuck up and opinionated, he chose not to tell them. I respect his choices but wish he could share his life openly. He has a long term partner, been together for a few years. He's very charming and articulate. Everybody loves him. How sad your Grandfather had to hide that
