I loved Flipper and dated Luke Halpin in the 80s while living in Florida. He was a great guy, had his share of demons to battle. I'm glad he's still here with his love of animals and gentle heart. ❤

This show takes me directly in a time machine to the best years of my life. I can relate so well with Luke. His mannerisms, personality, and even the clothes he wears. Lol😂

I really respected Luke Halpen as a child actor on FLIPPER. He portrayed the perfect older brother and dutiful son to his father...Great aquatic skills and acting.

Luke made watching the Flipper series more enjoyable. His excellent acting and relationships as the older brother and respecting his TV Dad's authority made it seem real. Glad to hear he is a respected film maker to this day. Cheers Luke !

Loved “Flipper”. My fantasy was to be there, wearing nothing but cutoffs and a tan, frolicking with a dolphin - all under the watchful eye of the hunkiest dad on TV.

I remember my friends and I would take a 30 minute time out to watch flipper in the Philippines when I was in gradeschool. Thanks flipper, Luke, Bud and Rick.

Paul Crosby, Salem, Oregon I was shy kid of about 12 or 13 when I first saw Luke on the new Flipper TV series in 1964. Right after that, I decided I wanted to be like Luke. He has had a huge influence on me to the present day, at my present age of 66. Younger generations have just never had the very best inspiration that Luke has given us!

Hi Paul-- I realize it isn't rational, but I sometimes think It's a shame human beings have to age so much and so soon. It seems almost a crime against nature when a handsome guy like Luke Halpin must age out of his physical beauty. And I'm none too thrilled about my own aging situation either. But I was never handsome like Luke, so it doesn't matter so much from the aesthetic standpoint, only for reasons of health. I am a few years younger than you, but still old enough I watched "Flipper" in first-run on NBC Saturday evenings. Like "Lassie," that television series was a landmark of boyhood for me. Don't you wish Luke could still be about 20-25 years old too? Oh well, we will always remember Luke in his prime, and no one my take that away from us.

By the way, if you should read my previous post here, Luke, I am not delusional, just perpetually smitten. And I hope your situation is improving greatly. I just heard on a news report the Facebook co-founder (Mark Zuckerberg) has donated 99% of his wealth to medical research, with the hope of curing all disease at some point in the future. While this is too late for us Baby Boomers, it is still a noble goal. If this report is true, I will never say an unkind word about Facebook again. I may still not become a Facebook member, but I would have to respect a guy who would give away most of his wealth to about the most positive philanthropic cause of which I may think.

Hey, Luke. Vinny here. Hope your doing well and are handling your demons. Don't worry, I'll never say anything. But we did have lots of fun while you lived near me on Gramercy Av. here in Central Fla. God be with you and yours and good luck in the future. Your good friend Vinny in good old Fla.

Luke also played one of the Lost Boys in the Mary Martin version of *Peter Pan* (1960), and Annie's brother Little Jake in the Mary Martin-John Raitt TV production of *Annie Get Your Gun* (1957).

The original was before my time, but I remember watching the reruns as a boy. I was crushin' on Luke big time and I had no idea why or what it meant. He was impossibly handsome and always tried to do the right thing.

Me too Luke was always a heartthrob of mine. I was around the same age growing up in the '60s. Can't believe he's from New York City too just like me.. one difference is he likes the water and me I'm afraid of the water I never really learn to swim

Great tribute to Luke Halpin from the pros in the industry. It was a great show (an great movies) - seeing the series on Hulu has brought back some great childhood memories. Luke made it all look so easy and fun - it was a lifestyle I dreamed of as a kid. Great to hear he continues to thrive albeit behind the camera.

Very nice tribute...perhaps it was my move to Florida from Colorado (and seeing dolphins often) that made me think of Flipper and my teenage crush on Luke! I googled his name and was happy to see this tribute!!!

As a gay boy, I was only vaguely aware there was a dolphin in the show. I turned in to see Luke.

Hey Luke --- Hey, Peter Gardner here … just felt a bit of nostalgia and poked around to see how you are doing. I am still down in Miami Beach living a block from the sea and producing commercials in South Florida and I sure hope you are well and hope you just might see this. Always loved your buoyant ( a bit of a pun ) friendly nature ! You look great in this video clip btw. Cheers old boy ( pun again )
