I agree with Luke on supporting locals and agreeing to pay a bit of a tourist price. But I don't agree with the comments saying it's a fair price since they are comparing the price to their local economy. Let's break down the events of the video. First he said shave 50k. Then said haircut 120k (so 170k), then he offered a face mask didn't say price. Then said 300k (so face mask is 130k) then said 350k (so inflation went up 50k) then waxxed his ears and said 500k (so 150-200k to wax the ears, 3 to 4 times the shave cost). That's the issue. $25USD (if that's the translation) is fine but that's not at all how the session started. Just felt it had to be said lol

Again I'm all for locals getting paid more especially since these youtubers are making money off them as well but honesty is important. You can't justify someone lying because "tourist have money". That's foolish.

It is actually not expensive to get all that, I am Lebanese and i find it very fair, especially back in oct.2021. I shaved my short hair only for 50-75000. So thats average for what he is getting.

HAHAHAH bro, this barber ripped you off a haircut in Lebanon these days at an average barber can cost you at most 15000LBP and this guy took 300000LBP from you!!! THAT'S INSANE(and the face mask won't cost more than 10 000 LBP otherwise no one would have done it due to the dire economic situation),500 000 LBP is 80% of the minimum wage in Lebanon, actually the barber didn't want anyone in the shop while you were shaving because he didn't want anyone to see you pay him this ridiculous number

@@Jessicaleesid OMG! dear jessica, If the barber had told luke that he's gonna charge him more because he's a tourist I wouldn't have been annoyed BUT the barber exploited the fact that Luke is a foreigner and doesn't know how much a haircut really costs in Lebanon and on top of that he told him how much the haircut will cost after Luke was sat down so Luke would be embarrassed to say no for this big number (especially in this economic crisis where prices are a bit confusing for foreigners). if this happened to you and a barber ripped you off by 10 times the original price(a haircut and a face mask can cost at most 50,000LBP) would you be happy and say yeah he deserves it (when he actually tried to keep customers out of the store so no one knows that you're paying him 10 times the price).
