You use Freedoms and Inks for everyday spending . Use the Saphires to redeam the points. If they added everyday multipliers to the csr it would be a major shift in how they have everything set up to blend together. Why I don't expect or want this to happen. Refresh the saphires for travel. Refresh the freedoms for everyday spending.

"not forever alone like my friend RJ Financial" might be the best call out I've seen 🤣 Great video. As someone who travels almost entirely domestically with my family of 5, I may upgrade my CSP to the CSR once I and P2 get back below 5/24 (maybe one day) and we can go more all in on earning UR points. Amex just keeps throwing out great offers I can't say no to, and the ability to transfer to Hawaiian to Alaska to book AA flights (for now), or to Hyatt has given us such good opportunities and high cpp that I've not needed the portal. (I really do value finding where my family's travel wishes and high cpp overlap, despite my confusing livestream comments lol).

Hi Luke. Very informative video. Thank you. CSR makes lot of sense for people like me who use Freedom unlimited for non category spending with in US. It ensures minimum return of 2.25 using CSR travel portal for each dollar spent on unlimited. The added value of x 1.5 for each point using CSR portal helps negating the annual fee on CSR. Also, closest airport, Boston having a Chase lounge, is another reason for me to keep it. It gives unlimited visits to Chase lounge.

All I do at this stage of my life is domestic travel and I can't be bothered to search for those Business Class sweet spots for a flight that will last, at most, five hours. It seems like every quarter I'm getting a great category on the Flex (7x at McDonald's, 5x on gas, 5x on groceries, 7x on restaurants in general). I just get such great use out of the Chase cards besides the CFU. I'd just use the Venture X for my catch-all. If the next premier Chase card is released and it's got good, different multipliers, I'll just product change my CFU to it since I'm so far away from 5/24

Your take here is interesting Luke! I've had the Chase trifecta for several years now. Their ecosystem leaves me with a "meh" feeling. It has gaping holes in its multipliers. I've a disdain for rotating categories "forcing" me to change behavior every quarter. The 1.5x portal boost is cool - until it's not. I prefer direct bookings & transfer partners to the portal. Since my wife and I have many travel expenses that fit into Chase's broad definition of "travel", including cruises, that other travel cards do not cover, we now have the CSR in addition to the Morgan Stanley version of the Amex Platinum. Morgan Stanley covers the Platinum annual fee and the first authorized user card is also free. Yes that means we have to spend $32,500 a year on those Chase travel categories that the other travel cards do not count, that we would use a 2% card for, but we do. We are seniors living on investments and Social Security, so we are different than most of your viewers. We have not used Doordash.

For earnings, I wish this card was a 4x Travel, 4x dining card (cap the dining at $50k like the gold card if you must)...the big improvements I want to see is Chase decide to flip the script on portals and take away the 10x earnings on Hotels and exclusively let CSR Holders get "The Edit" feature of nights and elite points at various hotels (doesn't need to include The Edit's FHR type benefits)...The Freedom cards should be re-worked for grocery and Gas, so much dining overlap and duplicate pharmacy earning...there's slots to do things...but Chase Doesn't care...yet. IMHO, the CSR shines most for folks with frequent transit expenses to put into that 3x category and/or folks who get a lot of value out of the doordash benefits. Good point. However, usually that comes with two considerations: 1. Booking hotels through portal does not entitle you to take advantage of hotel status- that’s if you care about that stuff. And 2. @ ppl may not like what Amex does to provide value, but at least they actually do. Chase doesn’t even bother. All they have is artificial scarcity (5/24) and hyatt. Chase loyalists behave like a cult.

The longer I stay in the credit card game the more I agree with you on travel credits. If I want a $300 travel credit I’ll just use my own money and still get points on that $300 😂. I’d be fine with Chase getting rid of the travel credit if they replaced it 10-15 visits to a United Club lounge 😬

@ on a side note, my city in south Louisiana is expected to get 5-8 inches of snow Tuesday! As someone who loves Nola I figured you’d find that interesting. For reference, we usually get 1-2 inches every 4 years if we’re lucky 😂
