Taking an already amazing paper building kit and turning it into an Ultra Realistic scene that could be mistaken for an actual location!
This is a laser cut paper model from Markenburg, their kits not only look amazing but they are very easy to put together and with a bit of extra detail and weathering they look extremely realistic. I'm from the UK and you can find building exactly like this one in pretty much every single town! As you say, all it would take would be changing some of the small details (like the signs and payphone) and maybe removing the air conditioning units from the roof and bam! it's a UK street scene! I've been binge watching your videos recently because your narration is so calming and I love the attention to detail you put into all your builds!! This is another phenomenal scene - well done!!

Glad to see you found a Markenburg kit. I have been working with Markenburg kits for a long time as most of them originate from the city of Waalwijk where I grew up in the Netherlands. Neither did I until they showed me their kits on a train show around 10 years ago. They are amazing. I have seen other paper/cardboard kits but none are as good as Markenburg.

You had me at the dog scared of thunder. LOL. I had a collie who was the same way. However, unlike your dog sitting in your lap, my dog would cower in the corner and incessantly drool. Drool so much that I would always have to place a towel on the floor to keep the floor from getting saturated. Poor thing, he was so sweet. I miss him. :(

I don't believe it, I know for sure this type of building (typical 60's style ) is Dutch. Yes you'll see this in Germany and Scandinavia, but not in the quantity you see it in The Netherlands. And then again, these kind of houses (with the huge windows on both sides) are for sure Dutch.

Incredible work, as usual! The only detail I would change is the manhole cover with the road stripe on it. When workers replace the cover, they NEVER line up the stripe! 😄

While this build looked alright when finished, all the details that were added by you really is going to help sell this model to people who want to give it a go. Things like all the pipes and roof work done is just amazing, even little things like supports for the awning just knock it out of the park. And OMG those lamp posts just looked absolutely gorgeous! Definitely feel like you almost have to a have a 3D printer to make things look good though.

As much as I enjoy these build videos, I must say...My true love of your channel is your terrain videos. Something about the creeks and the folks fishing off rocks and the little fences! Dang. If I ever could do it, I'd do a train build but use like mountainous and the rolling wheat fields of the Columbia Basin here in the Northwest of USA.

A fantastic result as always. The method of creating street lamps I am definitely using. I bought some lamps with LED's but the posts are not totally straight. Using that Stainless capillary tube will ensure they will be. Love your work mate. 👍

Fun fact is that these kits are all of real buildings and have information about it on there site. Some I have looked up in Google Earth and there I could see how they look in the real world and they are very realistic. Some very old buildings no longer exist but were there once. Great work on this on.

I immediately thought the building looked suspiciously Dutch, with that red brick facade and the apartments above the shops. The large windows in the apartments are a dead giveaway as well; apparently you see those in the Netherlands very often. Of course you have similar types of buildings all around the world, but as the kit is called 'Oranjestraat' (Orange Street) on the packaging, that confirmed it 😄 (Good job making it more Australian though. We certainly do not have those distinctive air-con units attached to the windows here, for one thing.)
