building a nostalgic apartment in The Sims 4 - Speed Build

Today, I am building a nostalgic apartment in the sims 4! It's very 90's inspired using some incredible custom content by a few of my favorite creators! This is giving 80s holdover for me. My childhood home had patterned walls in the 80s but we completely redecorated in '94, so my 90s experience was: white walls, white appliances, oak cabinets, oak tables, watercolor prints, accent pillows all over the place, a lot of baskets, curtains with valances, and a thicc TV in a huge oak entertainment center that also stored the stereo, CDs, books, etc

I find it so interesting that you furnish first, and then paint the walls. Which, of course can be done, but I kinda always paint first, even if I change it later. Cuz I'm just used to having to paint and decorate before furnishing irl. 😆😅

the cc couch reminds me both of the one from the basement treasures kit and also that one couch from cats and dogs with the orange, white and green stripes, idk why felt the need to say that but whenever I see a cc item that makes me think of an already in game item i get the goosies and giggle like a dork, also my family has a similar shelf to that triangle one but ours is more half moon shaped but its the same otherwise, same orangy wood tone, and has 4 shelves xD

I completely agree. The eco world looks amazing before the renovation. I wish there was a way to make the world look industrial without having all my sims freak out cause they can't breathe 😅

very cozy. i was born in 2005 so i don’t have real nostalgia relating to the 90s but i think it’s very beautiful, definitely would love to live in it. i’ve always been around older houses and i’ve learnt to appreciate them. more interesting than modern interior and exterior imo

I was born in the 80s. My experience with the 90s is all a blur because it was over a decade ago for me but one thing I do remember is we converted the attic into my own bedroom suite.
