All that damage is awful. I live in Cedar Rapids, IA. In 2008 we had a bad floor that did a lot of damage to the city. I lost my home in it. You feel so helpless as you watch the water rising but can't do anything about it. Take care

the first seat belt was used in indycar if your going to be in a wreck un hook it please! that was the real use of seat belts! ok my step father was a police man a guy burned up alive in a car the seat belt hung & that all that held him in ps a knife or seat belt ripper or cuter device on or near you please! my dad said!

Yep! Lost most of 3 basement walls during Agnes in Corning NY. I lost a 100’ oak tree at my home in North Florida to Debbie, then flew around tropical storm Debbie to Corning last Thursday, only to get hit by Debbie again on Friday while hiking. There was some serious flooding in the area.

I live in Central Pa,. Middleburg area. We received 6" from this, it is what was left from Hurricane Debbie! The steep mts. funneled the water to cause floods! I'm glad this spared you guys !

I lived through the 1985 floods here in WV while going to school in Glenville. I was in class watching waterfall and streams coming down the hill where there shouldn't be any. We knew the flood was coming so we spent all afternoon moving stuff from stores in downtown Glenville, groceries up to the school cafeteria and the feed store's stuff up to their second floor. Then went to the Pub to drink beer. When the water came through the front door the owner Bobby opened up the cooler and said take what you can. I grabbed two cases of beer and headed home, only to stop and help people get out of their houses. Someone stole my beer. My girlfriend now wife and I worked at the cafeteria and for the next few days we feed the town and whoever else needed food. After the flood I helped friends clean out their houses. The mud and stench were terrible. The flood washed my friend's house away in Petersburg. 38 people died across the state, most over in the Potomac drainage. For many people there is before 85, and after 85. In 1996 there we had worse floods in the same area but better warning and fewer people and buildings in the floodplain the destruction was a lot less. And everyone needs to know that the river extends all the way across the floodplain, just not all the time. I was working as a raft guide at the time and the Cheat River changed dramatically. Several rapids completely changed. The towns of Rowlesburg and Albright were forever changed.

Our city and the province built a floodway channel that goes around our city. Built between 1962 and 68. It circles the city and has higher walls on the inside so if the flood channel gets full, the extra water is pushed out of the city and floods the countryside. It was expaned in 2010 and made deeper and wider. It is called the Red River Floodway and has saved the city of Winnipeg from countless floods since it was built.

In July South Africa's Western Cape had some real flooding: roads washed away, railway lines washed away, towns completely cut off. The rainiest July on record, I think. 8 days on which there was no rain, and half the year's rainfall in four weeks. I recorded 388. It was pretty damp.

I'm in Westminister, MD and I watched the Weather Channel Friday morning to check the radar and saw that your area was going to be clobbered. I knew from your previous video about your flood experience that your family had moved to higher ground to live. My thoughts and prayers were for the others. I was stuck in the 1972 flood from Agnes and when you mentioned the smell of a flood I could smell it to this day. There is just something about it that you never forget. Like being knocked down by the rushing waters because at 10 years old I was dumb enough to go outside and "check out the neighborhood". Thanks mom and dad for letting that happen... Seatbelt! Last week on the Weather Channel, I saw that Williamsport was getting hit with wave after wave of rain from Debble. It made me thing of you folks . My last relative moved from Linden to Michigan 8-10 years ago. You are in the Allegheny Mountains so all that water runs down into the valleys. I was in Cogan Station before 1957 when we moved to Maine. I don’t remember a divided highway running north from Williamsport and Cogan Station was just a small town then. No big gas stations with convenience stores. It has been that long since I have been to Trout Run. I remember big floods on the west branch’s river plane 70, or so, years ago. Nothing like what you were hit with last week.

My family's property is on Larry's Creek in Cogan Station, nobody lives there now. We had to replace the bridge over the creek lots of times, if there was one there now it would most surely have been wiped out. I hope The Crippled Bear made it through!

I just lived through the hurricane just north of where it came ashore in North Florida. Trees down. Roads were all blocked. I live on a tree farm. Dirt roads all around. At least 8 inches of rain. Lost power for almost 2 days. My old mobile home is covered by and surrounded by downed trees and my travel trailer where I had hoped to move back to is trashed and is now a wreck. Had to cut a path out. But we were lucky. The one last year was much worse. Prayers for all of those effected. BSafe. BBlessed

I saw the forecast track of the storm and afterwards understood it to have gone North through Williamsport, PA, and on to Utica, NY, before turning East. Terrible natural disaster. I live in Florida near where the storm came into. Went almost a week with no power, people's homes flooded, trees thru roofs, some homes just destroyed. Had to cut a path out. I live beside the Suwannee River and its over flood stage right now. I'm glad ya'll are ok, and I will be praying for those affected. Sadly, it seems there is nowhere that a natural disaster can't hit. But, we will survive and rebuild, that's what we do. We are Americans, we don't give up.

We were camping on Denton Hill last weekend. We road sxs over to Colten point ( Grand Canyon) most of the way was good but lick run road was badly damaged but we were able to get through. And at the bottom of the hill was a road closed sign. They had a backhoe working on our way back. Prayers for all that were effected by the storm

In 2007, I was flooded out of my trailer and lost almost everything. I now live on a hilltop in Maine, which I consider to be a much safer location. Sorry for your losses. I hope things can return to normal pretty soon.

So sorry for the losses caused by the flood. I hope no one was hurt and that everyone recovers from their property losses soon. The interesting smell you were talking about is called "petrichor". It consists primarily of two substances - geosmin (a type of alcohol) and 2-methylisoborneol. They are produced by a bacteria in the soil, Actinomycetes. What you are breathing in is the spores produced by the bacteria. The rain aerosolized the spores that were present in the soil. The smell is stronger when the rain follows a dry spell because there are more spores at that time, but you pretty much get the smell with any rain. in the Metro Detroit area, we have the Rouge River. Hines Park is a flood valley, during heavy constant rain the stop-signs set 6" from being completely submerged. it's crazy to see miles of park underwater

Hines Drive is functioning as planned when it rains hard. I live in the Detroit area and I’m accustomed to the jokes about someone spilled a cup of coffee, so Hines Drive is closed. 💦🤣 The Rouge River flows through that area and Hines Park is part of the river’s floodplain.

Back in the mid sixties, I helped on cleaning up a flood that had taken many lives between Darrington washington and another town that I no longer remember the name., I am sure after my comment that it will come to me... signs of age are not easy to accept. That smell of mud is something you will not forget, nor should you as it will leave a impression on your mind that is going to affect you similar to PTSD. I do suffer with PTSD, from other issues. My main focus of this comment is to commend you Em and Jade for doing this video. Some how or reason, it is not covered well on youtube. There again, I do not watch fake news and so missed much that is released on those feeds. I might of also missed it on youtube as I channel my video entertainment on the channels of my person interest. I did search for videos and had a poor outcome looking for this tragedy. I am so sorry for those affected, and of course my trying to make myself understood about the search which has affected thousands of people in many areas. I realize many video releases are in case of their timing, two or more months late in their release. I do not understand why they are not in first person today as your channel is as it happens. I commend all of you for your focusing on daily video releasing videos so important to the many looking for content that is relevant

We just barely made it out of the Northeast before the latest floods. Our vacation from the hellish temps of TX was great in Upstate NY and the Adirondacks was fantastic! We even went swimming at Hulls Falls, where your family swam a couple of years ago. It was fantastic! Also swam at Chapel Pond, and at Split Rock Falls on the Boquet River. We heard after we got back that the Ausable and Boquet both had flooding, and Ausable Chasm's waterfalls were hugely overflowing. Hope all the damage near y'all is fixed soon.

Down here in central North Carolina, we got between 6-12 inches of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Debby. At some points it was coming down at 3 inches per hour. Having lived in the mountains, I understand what that much rain can do. When that much rain falls, the only place for it go is down. Those in the lower valleys are like being in narrow end of a funnel. Prayers are with you, your family and your neighbors. It will take some time but your community will recover but I,m sure it will. Prayers going out to all affected. Back in 1996 (bought house in 1994) we had a torrential downpour come through and I ended up with three feet of water in my basement. FEMA came through and considered it a disaster area and I ended up getting a check for around $3k. All in all it cost me another $2k just for the cleanup and mold removal. Good news is that I went to my parents house, who were gone, and saved their massive Dept. 56 Christmas village from the water. They were lucky and only got about 6". Best of luck to all involved...
