@@chipmoi was always a bit annoyed at how useless research rate increase was until you hit a certain checkpoint. The fact that most researches take 4-8 turns to complete meant you needed 20 or sometimes as much as 30 % to even feel it.

I still say no to that. It's too damn overpowered and it should never have been given to them in the first place. You may go "but it's singleplayer" but actually no. Me and my friends play multiplayer campaign and when I play alone I never want to go up against the A.I spamming them too with no way to stop them. Me and my friends are delighted about this well deserved nerf.

You know what's funny about that? That's how it used to be, in the old(bad) tech tree before thrones of decay 😅. So, yeah, agree. Adding that back would be a a good fix for it! Heavily disagree that it's overpowered btw. Never ever been in a situation against the ai where fire while moving won me a battle, compared to when they didn't have it. In hundreds of hours of playtime.

I would REALLY love if they could add a "charge bonus" buff icon so we know how long it is active for during combat visually rather than having to count ourselves. Have it on the UI where all the other buffs go on the unit card. PLEASE CA!

I really want an Unusual location that gives you Ogre mercenaries like a Travelling Ogre Camp that it gives you a small penalty to control but with Ogre mercenaries at your disposal and they disappear after a few turns.

@Loremaster of Sotek The changeling has in custom battle, and in visible in campaign in his forms panel for the dragons, that he should be able to use the ability Transformation of the Dragon, but for my sadness this is not the case. And even if not present, it doesn't make sense for the changeling not being able to transform to a dragon, specially since It's the freaking changeling!

I wish they would change Zhao Ming's ability to straight up let him to recruit ogre bulls and maneaters from recruitment buildings. It would make things much more interesting and hardly be overpowered. They could put unit caps in if they're really worried about all ogre armies.

I am happy with the update. While it remains to be seen how smoothly these ogre features function in game, I am quite excited for the rest of their changes.

Still a little bit worried with Maad's Map about whether or not we'll be able to equip it, move and then unequip it to dodge the negative effect. Down the line, I'd like to see CA implement a movement point check for removing items, heroes etc. which grant increased movement range, like how there's a movement point check so you can't hop into idle stance after marching your full movement to dodge the battle penalties.

@the_tactician9858 i wouldn't want to exploit it myself when doing so would obviously go against the intended design, but I know for a fact many others will do it as long as it's possible. I think a lot of people are currently manually swapping movement ancillaries around every turn between all of their armies.

@@SpiceCh I guess that's true... though people do find fun in breaking game mechanics in their benefit, judging by the amount of videos on cheesing the battle AI or breaking the campaign. Seeing ludicrous numbers is fun after all, even if you didn't earn them. That doesn't mean these exploits shouldn't be patched out, but as long as they don't spoil anyone else's pleasure in a way that cannot be ignored, I don't see why this should have utmost priority over things that are NOT fun.

@SleepyFen Pretty sure that campaign movement is calculated on the end turn so the bonus only applies on the turn after you equip it. So it shouldn't be cheeseable.

Holy crap they finally added tech overflow. Get tech boosts always felt off when I realized this game hadn't that feature. Also love that their adding new items. Got kinda boring having 3 games of the same stuff. Hope they look into adding more unique locations with the next patch. I just love the flavor they add, even if I could do without the sexy wine every campaign. The dreamwine item is funny though. I usually give it to a lord who loses as a battle as a "pick-me up."

The new faction revival locations is pretty big for those of us that enjoy confederating all of a race's legendary lords. It sucked that some factions could die really early with no realistic chance for the player to save them.

What I dream to see in future updates is that we end up getting unique skills or tech for the factions that have thematic units that aren't native to said faction. For instance: Maneaters for Sartosa and Slaanesh units for Morathi. It would just be nice to have battle skills or tech which support the flavour units going into the later parts of the game rather than just the lvl 9 chevrons. It's a small thing but I feel like it would add much and I think it goes without saying but i'd much rather field thematic armies supported by battle skills rather than fielding thematic armies without battle skills.

Rogue Idols got nerfed not buffed, splashing their high damage on fewer entities reduces their anti infantry damage, wherefor Splash damage is meant for. Or am i wrong?

I just want the next DLC. All of this is still great but the boredom is real. It won’t be helped too much by the DLC either but it’ll still be good. Just hoping it arrives at the latest in late November early December so I can play during vacay.

The buffs associated with completing an Ogre Contract or a mission in general should be long term percentage based. As it stands there’s almost no amount of money that can justify diverting an army from its proper function of capturing settlements and strengthening my faction just to get a single lump sum reward that almost certainly will be less than the cost of that army. Now there’s still no guarantee doing a mission would be useful if it was a modifier but at least there’s potential that a 5% or 10% stackable modifier would be more valuable in the long run than just doing standard things with my armies even including travel time and therefore I’d have to make strategic choices about whether to pursue it

Agreed A lord that does a contract should, in addition to whatever else, get either a short term, massive reduction to upkeep (something like 80% to 100% for 3-5 turns), or else a permanent, smaller, and stackable reduction that maybe has an upper limit (like, 5% reduction per contract, caps at 50%, but stacks with any other upkeep reduction the Lord might have). This would mean things like, armies that do contracts regularly naturally end up having more high tier and expensive units than armies that don't, which makes sense. That's pretty much the only way a contract is worth doing if it isn't for something you're already doing. The other way would be to award units, like Greenskin WAAAGH! reward units... but this would mean making more units for the Ogres, which, while good, is a sinking ship

Holy fucking shit Sotek, they fixed movement!!! I lost count how many times I've complained and submitted how stupid and misleading that % based movement was. This and research taking the super popular mod are exactly the kinds of updates/corrections/fixes I expect if this game is ever to reach its promised potential! Another year of this effort CA and I'll have to start recommending the game again!

Good patch, but the update broke some mods so hard that their creators openly stated their frustration and said they give up trying to do updates until the game is fully done. And I can't even blame them, that's a hundred+ hours to fix some of those mods every single time the devs change one little thing.

The sole reason I uninstalled the game after a whooping 5k hours was the atrocious AI pathfinding on siege battles. It still haunts me how my whole army ignores the broken gate and trying to use damn ladders causing a big clusterfck , even I put them in front of the open gate. It still baffles me how they couldn't managed to fix that shit. Either remove the damn ladders or make it exclusive that after a unit uses, just destroy the ladder or at least put a toggle so player can destroy it.

Honestly, just make ladders something that needs a specific and deliberate instruction to do. Units never look for ladders, they only use them if clicked to move at the wall. ...of course this probably breaks the AI so... Uh. Just install mods that remove settlement battles entirely. They aren't worth it

This is an update, if it encorporates mods into the base game and makes the base game overall better for everyone with or without mods, that is a good thing. The unit variants are not huge additions, but they are a perfect little appetizers to give something new to a faction. They opened the floodgates with the goblins so its possible more and more missing variants will come soon, leaving the really fully new and unique units for dlcs. Wait for the Dlc trailer around next month.
