A few weeks back, I had a brief chat with Adrian ( over at Bark&Jack ) about his watch journey video. It was mentioned that he originally wanted to extend an invitation to others to share their watch journey as well..... so, here's mine! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A link to the sponsor, WatchCrunch www.watchcrunch.com/LumeShot/posts/my-watch-buying-journey-3630

I collected vintage Rolleiflex twin lens cameras during my 20’s, vintage Scandinavian furniture during my 30’s and early 40’s. In my mid 40’s, I went into the JLC Boutique in Paris with my wife and fell in love with the 60th anniversary edition Memovox. That watch started my interest in vintage (and modern) watches. Now I’m 50 with a full blown addiction and totally broke! 🤣🤣

@VTSV Yes it does matter. Scenario 1 - person works his tail off on three jobs to be able to afford said watches. Scenario 2 - Hedge fund manager dad buys his son anything he wants. I have a lot more respect for the person in scenario 1.

Hi lume shot, since you're experienced in horology, would you make a video comparing Seiko vs swiss movements or quality? I just noticed that seiko puts more effort on the dials and produces more workhorse, industrialized less pretty looking movements. And with the swiss it's like the other way around...

that's funny about ur story I am also from the edc / knife community I was a knife guy. I made a pretty expensive purchase,( a benchmade adamis) and I lost it to customs over 'legality'. It had happened before to a friend. But, I decided I would instead of knives. Just start collecting watches instead. because watches are tangible, they fill every void I had for knives. and more. they are used by everyone. and serve a much more important function. also reminding me that time is limited on earth. I am so glad I made this decision. watches really tick all boxes. lol I really am in love with watch collecting now. it's crazy how many cool people I have net already.

Wonderful video, my watch journey COLLECTION CURRENTLY 126300 DATEJUST 41MM Azzuro Roman and 42MM 216570 Polar for everyday use and travel. I also sold and traded a few watches until I realized what I like including few Breitling Superocean watches, an Aquaracer my first watch and a 126613LN Rolex Submariner which didn't enjoy waring. My 3d and final piece which is my GRAIL will be the VACHERON 56 Blue on Bracelet. Contemplating on trading the Polar for a 39MM Explorer MK2, Polar sometimes feels big and heavy, but the design and dial make it hard to let go. Its a super interesting hobby, I also love when I meet watch guys who love the history, and tradition of watches rather than the Logo or status symbol. 3 Watches to me are perfect as a collector, but we'll see lol
