Neither the wizard king, nor Licth have their grimoire, and Licht only has 1 of his swords.. They arnt even close to how strong they used to be in their prime.

Wizard king was using his grimoire. You can see it clearly btw Even if they were strong enough, like in there prime yeh they couldn't defeat the demon cuz as we see only yami's magic and asta's magic alongside yuno's blade work on demons.

Lumiere wasn't even known as the Wizard King when he fought the transformed Licht. It was a title awarded to the strongest mage after the battle. Also, based on where the demon bones are in the present and how close the human kingdom was in the past we can assume the royal capital was moved after the fight
