I've always been surprised that CIG hasn't been faster on getting some way to restore store ground armor. Because that would have a direct effect on sales. Because why should someone bother to buy ground armor that you could die within 5 minutes and lose that armor until a future patch! Maybe they just expect you to melt the armor on the store and repurchase it every time you lose it. 🤦

I would love to see one of the larger handheld salvage tools and one of the larger handheld tractor beams be included as gifts-or even purchasable in general. It would be good to be able to start post-wipe knowing those were not things you would have to hunt for right off. Thanks as always for the video!

I would caution against over-emphasizing LTI with a starter pack for new players, since those are not always available and it can over-complicate the buying process for them, but the Intrepid LTI starter pack is still for sale, so that would be recommended over the Luminalia starter pack offers.

Especially since the insurance period only starts counting down AFTER they say it's a 1.0 release. Even then, you would just renew insurance with UEC afterwards. As much as I'd like to keep playing great things, how many games do you still play 10 years after? That said, they totally got me with LTI.

I think a referral also works if you buy upgrades, right? So create a throwaway account, buy upgrades, wait the needed time, and transfer the upgrades to your main. Or, if you buy a pack for 40, transfer it, can you sell it and get the store credit?

I love the Luminalia paints this year, but other than the Merlin/Archimedes ones, my one disappointment is that the 400i, Gladius, and Ursa all have _lots_ of paints already. I would have liked to see some ships with fewer (or no) paints get some love. And I'm saying that as someone who flies a 400i as a daily driver.

i think you should stress that LTI is not really a big deal or necessity. all ships bought with real money have lifetime insurance; the timeline is simply how long they will have free claims. LTI ships will always have free claims while non-LTI ships simply will have a UEC fee for claims once expired. it's UEC-bought ships that have the risk of disappearing forever (and they will with each wipe until 1.0)

I really wish we could decline those calendar gifts after opening the doors. Just reading up on spoilers about the content kills the surprise but the sheer number of freebies in my account is starting to amount to entire pages of possessions i never used

I did the one year centurion a few years ago. It was okay. But the last 2 years I've looked at what the subscribers get each month and it's been garbage! Mostly useless hangar flair. 🤮 Unless you just want to get on the PTU in Wave 1 and test drive a different vehicle each month, I wouldn't bother. And I almost forgot... After one year of subscribing you get a 10% or 20% coupon code for a future purchase. I keep forgetting to use mine. It's been like 3 years. 🤣

What about one of those packs for yourself, though? Let's say you wanted an extra starter on your account for eventual NPC play. Would it be worth it with these to get a new account using your own referral code and then after the referral bonus gifting from that alt to your main to get that extra "starter" pack on your account for the NPC? And then if you want you can use that as a potential starting ship to do an Upgrade to something with better Insurance and that you want later? Do they have LTI Starter packs at some other time of the year where it's worth waiting for those instead?

But 25% off might actually be enough to make the Nomad kind of interesting. $71 with a game pack? 🤔 And we were kind of trashing these packs, talking about how they only have 24 month insurance, but it's not actually possible to get LTI on your game package these days unless you wait for the initial sale of a new starter which typically isn't paired with a referral ship promotion. You might be able to upgrade a LTI token to one of these ships but you won't be able to upgrade an LTI token to a game package. These are for new people starting the game. ...And just purely speculating the "warranty" you get for paying-to-win may actually be the far more important than free insurance that's supposed to cost very little and be super easy to obtain in game, in contrast to the claimed rarity of warranties. Personally when I've gotten the game for friends I did buy these packages (cheapest one Aurora or Mustang) and then upgraded the referral ship to a titan?? But I'm not actually sure what the best route to go is.

Personally I think the LTI is a bit over hyped, 10 year is just as good. I don’t see how they are going to keep up the interest for so long. It just going to turn into a lifetime investment/ project for some people.
